The week that Matilda turned 2 years old we found out she had skin cancer. We had taken her to the vet for a unrelated problem when we casually mentioned a strange pink bump on her back leg. The vet took a biopsy of it and said it look like cancer.
They removed the bump that day and confirmed the vets suspicions. Slightly over a year later Matilda was on her fourth surgery for skin cancer. Apparently breeds such as the American Bulldogs are prone to having skin cancer. However, most of the cases don't show up until the dog is much older like 6 or 8 yrs. old. We have to try to keep her out of the sun for prolonged periods, and we always check for new bumps. She is alittle scarred up, but she is still her feisty piggy self!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for me! I went on a little adventure around town. Mom turned her back for one minute and I was gone. I am very agile which allowed me to cross a very busy four lane road. So, I was checking things out when I noticed a bunch of people walking around this building. Now, I love people, so I went to see if I could get some much needed attention. Next thing I know I am in this building running around, people petting me and chasing after me. Finally some lady grabbed me when I tried to kiss her. People were so nice there! I got petted, loved on and fed things like hotdogs....mmm...hotdogs! I was there for awhile until this really nice guy had his girlfriend come and get me so I wouldn't have to go to the pound. This girl was so nice too! She fed me more food!! Then she made me a nice bed in the garage, she even laid with me for awhile. It was awesome! Finally Mom and Dad came and got me. I was worried that they would be really mad at me, but they just gave me hugs and kisses. Mom said that they were really worried about me. I guess that I was gone for about 5 hours, but what do I know I have no concept of time! Well, for as much fun as I had I am glad to be home. My leg bad leg is real sour, and my belly was slightly upset, but all in all it was a good day!

So, as you might have noticed Mom and Dad found a pig outfit for me. Now, I don't know who this ebay person is, but if I meet him/her they may just get bit on the butt! Mom walked me down the street in my outfit, plus said something about a parade...how embrassing. The only joy that will come out of this is if Mom makes that baby puppy wear that ridiculous princess outfit.

I heard Mom say that she wanted to dress me like a pig for halloween! Can you imagine that, me dressed like a Pig! 1st off it is bad enough that they all call me Piggy and Pig, but to dress me as one that is going too far.
Man, am I glad Mom can't sew. But what happens if she finds someone crazy enough to make this atrocious thing! I hope she doesn't pay too much for it, because I am just going to have to eat it.
