Amber is afraid of Balloons! She also doesn't like it when she sees a dog and can't play with them... And she gets annoyed when we won't run her with the flashlight often enough! That we always keep her on a leash (for her own safety)...
Favorite Toy:
Any toy given by one of her Grandparents... They love their grandpuppy! She loves her glow-in-the-dark ball, her ball and bungee cord toy, her little Chihuahua squeaker toy, and of course, Nylabones!
Favorite Food:
Wet vegeterian allergy food, Scooby Snacks, and Snausages. But Amber is a very picky eater and she doesn't eat on any predictable schedule.
Favorite Walk:
Anywhere she can sniff and play with sticks.
Arrival Story:
My husband (who was then my fiance) and I decided that we wanted a dog. So in October of 2002 we started looking in area shelters for the perfect pup for us. When we found Amber, we knew we'd found our perfect dog. She already knew how to sit, stay, lie down, and give paw. She was housebroken and crate-trained and wanted to please. She came home with us on October 29th, 2002. She was six months old and had just been spayed. She quickly became our most favorite four-legged friend ever!
Bio:
We're not sure if she's purebred or not. Originally the shelter had classified her as an English Springer Spaniel mixed with a Golden Retriever. However, an online friend saw her picture and immediately identified her as what she really is - a Gordon Setter! But we love her no matter what! :) Amber loves to play with the dogs next door: Galway, a male chocolate lab about 6 months younger than her and Roxy, a female boxer who is about a year and 3 months younger than her. Amber isn't able to be off leash because of her breed instincts. She comes when called inside and when on a leash, but the second she's off a leash, everything else is more interesting than us and she doesn't listen to us when un-leashed. So for her own safety, she is either on a leash or a tether at all times when not in a fenced yard or when not indoors.
