I don't believe in breeders or pet stores due to puppy mills and overpopulation. I needed a pure bred poodle due to allergies. I took my time and kept calling all the local shelters on my days off. She had just arrived at Bucks Cty SPCA during one of my many calls. I told them I would be right over. I signed up for her before I even met her. She is adorable. She has very little vision in either of her eyes. Someone dumped this little cutie at the pound after having her for three years. I've treated her like a queen. She is never alone for more than an hour a day. She's hand fed. She is in the park 1-2 hours a day. She's had three MRIs for ruptured multiple disc episodes and major surgery on her spine. She's been evaluated by every neurologist/surgeon in a 100 mile radius. Bio: The SPCA indicated that her previous owner was a teenage boy who couldn't take her with him when he went away to college. The boys parents said they didn't have time for her because they both worked. Her name was Lady but I didn't want her to keep the name these people gave her so I changed it to Katie. She wouldn't even know the name Lady anymore. She definately had a reversal of fortune. She is a finicky eater and inspects every morsel before deciding whether to eat it (even though she eats only homecooked people food).
