Arrival Story:
We purchased our "designer" mutt from All Pet's Club in Wallingford- we felt comfortable with them because we know several people who have gotten wonderful dogs there and they are a family owned shop that purchases only from private breeders. We got to see Bosco within 2 hours of his arrival and we just HAD to have him!

Bosco is smart, but STUBBORN! My goodness...he practically taught himself how to sit and stay, but for the love of dogs he will NOT be housebroken! He also loves to bark at the cat, at anyone near the cat, and at anyone touching the cat (heaven forbid!). He still needs to learn that the kids are not puppies and he can not jump on them and bite them.

Well...Bosco is almost 6 months old! But, he's still not anywhere near housebroken. We take him out regularly, we use the "go pee-pee" command, and we praise him every single time he goes outside. I could leave the house for several hours and he'll not have an accident, but if we're home, he'll go multiple times inside the house within those several hours. I just don't get it. He won't whine or bark at the door and it's not like he *really* needs to go, because when he goes in the house, it's usually within an hour of having gone outside.

If any of you have tips on housebreaking a stubborn puggle, I'd love to hear them! I feel like I'll need to buy stock in Nature's Miracle soon (and Bounty!).

We had to leave Bosco for two whole weeks because our vacation home doesn't allow pets. :( Luckily, we didn't have to board him- some friends of ours agreed to housesit/petsit for us, so he was able to stay home the whole time.

My how he's grown! I couldn't believe how tall he had gotten! I was afraid he wouldn't remember us, but when we got home he was SO very excited that he peed on my foot! Yuck. As convinced as our friends were that they would have him housetrained by the time we got back (because obviously *I* must be doing something wrong ::rolls eyes::), Bosco is still peeing and pooping in the house. He does really well in the mornings, but then has no interest in holding it to go outside in the afternoons/evenings. Oh's a process.

We are so glad to be home with Bosco. He's lost a few puppy teeth and we came home to one of the corners of the wall in the kitchen being all chewed up and some new sawing on our kitchen set. We'll be going to the store today to get some new chewies!

We brought Bosco home on Sunday and on the way home we noticed his nose was still/again stuffy and running. He also started sneezing and coughing...and the latter has become increasingly worse. :(

Bosco made his first trip to our vet this morning and he's on a new antibiotic and we're going to watch him for a week to see if he gets better. We already love him to pieces! He is the sweetest little lap puppy in the world!

Please send Bosco some "get well soon" puppy thoughts!
