Arrival Story:
After the loss of our little boy Rocky [See Apollo's family memebers] - my partner, at the time, felt he had to get another Chi to live on Rocky's memory in his home [as Minxx and I had moved out, so now with Rocky gone too he was extra lonely] So the weekend after our little Rock past we set out to see this little guy... Originally they told us he was Chocolate coloured [like Rock] so we thought cool... then we spoke to them again and they said he was more like honey coloured... anyway, we took the long drive.. think bit over an hour away, when we got there the lady brought him downstairs and he was this little fat teddy bear looking orange lump! haha! HE WAS BEAUTIFUL!! a big fat pumpkin he was!! We got Maccas for dinner on the way home and whilst Minxx was a good little girl full of demure, the newcomer was beside himself with the smell of fast food!! I couldnt control him! He was trying to search high and low for where the smell was coming from! meanwhile he had a full belly from just being fed his dinner!! he was a little piggy that boy!! ;o) The next weekend Rocky was ready after his cremation, so Minxx, Apollo, my Partner and I went to scatter his ashes. We thought it very appropriate that Apollo was there for this as he had a chance to share our family love for his brother. and we wanted Rocky to know that Apollo was not a replacement. Far from that... Apollo has made us remember Rocky in our hearts even more every single day. We lit a candle and said a prayer for our Rock and for little Apollo who had just entered our lives... :o)

Bio:
After only a week or so with us Apollo gave us a mighty mighty scare! I had previously [before anticipating Rocky's death or even Apollo's newcoming into the family! ;o)] made an appointment with the vet to have Minxx microchipped, so it was perfect timing to have Apollo receive a vaccination... Out of mere curiousity [we thought, certainly being only 6wks old and 600 grams the vet would say it wasnt a good idea!] but stupidly we asked, 'Apollo cant get microchipped yet can he??' the vet said that he could and there'd be no problem.. we were surprised, but hey HE was the vet!! so we said to go for it... the vet told us he actually liked to put in a local anesthetic on the neck before administoring the chip so that it hurt the dogs less and gave them less of a fright.. oh, well, what a great idea we thought!! WE THOUGHT!! soon after we were all ready to go and before hoping in the car i put Minxx and Apollo down to do a quick wee... Apollo pretty much rolled straight over when i let go. he just plopped! My partner and girlfriend all laughed thinking he was just being a fatty or something but I was like Nooooo he cant wake up!! so we checked him out and he was very dosile but the more we annoyed him he responded so we figured the stress of the vet had gotten to him and we would get some honey into him as soon as we got home to pick his sugar levels up... In the car on the way home he began convulsing and having like a seisure in my hands! I couldnt force my finger to open his mouth, his eyes wouldnt open and he kept throwing his head back! I got my girlfriend straight onto the phone to the vet and my partner turned the car around and headed back to the vet, running 3 red lights! we saw a corner store and ran in, bought some honey and continued to the vet.. at this stage Apollo began foaming at the mouth! My heart was so messed up! It was beating like crazy! I was so scared, so angry, so everything!! well, I best cut a long story short, the vet gave him something to help and gave us a hotwater bottle. Apollo started to come round.. that whole evening though he couldnot wake up for very long at all. He would wet himself when he needed to go to the toilet and just kept sleeping! It was the scariest saddest thing ever! I cant believe to this day how well he recovered. He is fine and healthy. He has a little fat red blood vein over the white of his eye that we noticed appeared after the seisure which has never gone down, but other than that [& its only something his parents would ever even notice! lol ;o) ] he seems perfectly fine. We love him soo much. Minxx definately took a while to warm to him.. which is completely understandible after just losing her Rock. But now they are just fine.. :o) Apollo has grown up a very fine strapping boy! He's probably around the 2 kilo + mark, making him the heaviest out of his sister and late Brother, but he is a different build altogether. a smaller package I guess, than the long, skinny lanky little foal that was his brother, Rocky... He has sooo many of his own beautiful qualities! He lives with his daddy so I dont get to see him that much now. I miss him dearly everyday. and so does Minxx. I'll always always have a place in my heart for Apollo and I hope his daddy continues to let me see him and send me photos and updates on him forever. He will Always be My little boy too. and my Ex and I have always promised eachother that. I still buy him presents and toys. I never forget about him. Its actually been almost 2 months since the last time I saw him at the moment.. and thats the longest time Minxx and I have been without him. It makes me so sad. I love him so much. He's my special little pumpkin head! ;o)
