Arrival Story:
We had Keelo, our first dog for a couple of months now and decided that he needed a companion since we were out of the house for most of the day so I found an ad in the paper for a year-old black and tan miniature dachshund . Apparently, the mother bought Scoob for her son as a birthday present but her son could not keep up with the responsibility of taking care of the dog so he was forced to give Scoob away. We brought Keelo down to their house to meet with Scoob and they got along instantly! We're so glad that we decided to bring Scoob home after realizing what kind of neglectful conditions he was living him. The previous owners kept him in their backyard in a chicken wire pen filled with hay, even at night when it was chilly.

Bio:
Scoob is the smallest and youngest among our three dogs. Despite this, he acts as if he is the big boss and is quite dominant out of the three-yes...he has the small dog syndrome. He is often the policeman around the house barking at the other two bigger dogs when they are wrestling together as well as any strangers who happen to walk by our house. Scoob, I would describe as a very observant dog which then leads to his mischievous behavior. We've had to install child safety locks on cabinets because there have been occassions where he's open the door and pulled out the trash or has gotten into his dog food. His insatiable appetite for food has once led to excessive weight gain causing him to develop pancreatitis at the age of 2. He was hospitalized for a week where he was given IV fluids. Since that scare, we have managed to keep him down to a slim 11 lbs!
