Modeling Expedition

Me, I'm just an ole' country bumpkin mutt who's joys in life are guarding my family's backyard (hence the title - Straight from the [Guard] Post). Blame it on Nature vs. Nurture - being how I was raised, not being fixed until late in life, or that I am a Chow Chow, read the breed info if you don't know but Chow Chow's are very much like lovebirds, and an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie and like to run alot, but hey who cares? All I know is I live simply, hey - it's the southern way of living.

Now imagine my surprise when my best friend in the whole world comes out to play with me and not only showers me with praise, but wants to take pictures of me! I thought the camera would break!
To date, that was my best Memorial Day ever! And now everyone can see my "modeling" pictures. They've been up for awhile, but you probably didn't know that they were from a photo shoot - hence the captions.
Speaking of which, the dog or cat that sends me the best caption for my main picture gets something special from me! Picture Perfect just doesn't seem to capture the true essence of the picture.

Simplicity

I am but a simple dog. I live in a multi-level half acre that is all mine. Every day I wake up early and start my sentry duty. I patrol all day with an occasional nap or two. I used to do all this with my neighbors, Jack and Maggie but times are different now. At one time there was a Frank, but he lept the fences one to many times and had to move off. Jack was a good friend and fellow sentry, but he learned to climb fences and escaped. He has yet to return. It's been almost two years now, and a year with Sally their new rambunctious girl who I have been put in the position to teach all there is to teach. My days of sentry are still alive, but now I have more responsibility. Maggie herself has become partially deaf and blind and can't mother Sally, so it is all up to me. Oh joy.
