   Leave a bone for Casper (1990 - 2006)

Quick Bio:

February 4th 1990

I love sleeping, sleeping and sleeping! ....... When I get my bursts of energy, I also love to run up and down the hallway (connects from the front all the way to the back of the house), be with my (human) family members at all times & being all loved up!

Having my feet touched. Magpies (my family quit leaving a food dish outside cuz those darn birds kept eating it!).

Favorite Toy:
My squeeky stick

Favorite Food:
Anything out of your hand.

Favorite Walk:
To the mailbox. (a block away)

Best Tricks:
Silly nilly - tricks are for *kids*!

Arrival Story:
I have been with my family since I was 8 weeks old. They picked me up direct from the Breeder. Mom was all set on choosing one of my mellow sisters, but I picked up on that and showed off with my great personality and won her over BIG time! Mom wants me to add "just for the record", that I am NOT named after a certain friendly ghost, or because I'm white - again like that certain friendly ghost. She actually chose 'Jasper', but Grandma used to have a pooch of that name, so out of respect, Mom chose "Casper" - and that's me! :)

I am a Standard American Eskimo, now 16 years old and living out my Golden Years in complete SPOILED BLISS! Things are a little tough going at times - with the hearing and eyesight starting to go and the arthritis setting in, but my Family treats me so well and are very sensitive and responsive to my changing needs. Gave them a bit of a scare though (have to keep those humans on their toes you know - make sure they're paying attention!), they found a tumor growth on my neck earlier this year, but it was benign and has been completely removed and I am now back to being my loveable (and at times, cantankerous) self :) ================================

The tears in my eyes I can wipe away,
The ache in my heart will always stay.

Memory is life's sweetest gift,
Please, God, forgive a silent tear,
A fervent wish my Casper was here.
There are others, yes I know,
But he was mine, I loved him so,
Dear God, take a message,
To my Casper in Heaven above,
Tell him how much I miss him,
And give him all my love.

His memory is as dear today,
As in the hour he passed away.

Miss You Baby!! xoxo ♥

Casper spent his last few days being even more spoiled and loved than ever (did not even think that was possible!).
I threw his special diet out the window and fed him what he loved (the night before his passing, he enjoyed 2 cheeseburgers like never before!).
The day before, we went out and took some last pictures of him and the kids - even a couple of myself with him, those will never be printed, but at least I have them for me.
His last night, he took a LONG nap outside on the deck in the cool night air, while we sat around him reminiscing his life.
The next day was a very long one indeed.
I took him to the Vet's clinic in the morning for his catheter to be inserted (this way it was a stress eliminated when the time came for the Vet to come to our home).
We spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon snuggling him, while he lightly rested.
Even though we were just not ready to say goodbye, we were also getting anxious for the Vet to arrive (as soon as she did though, it was MUCH too soon!!)
We lit Casper's candle and said our goodbyes while he rested on my lap.
Casper took his last breath in my arms, shortly before 2:30pm on September 7, 2006.

I love you Baby!! xo♥
