Likes: Sneaking into bed while I'm sleeping. In the morning she'll go belly-up and you have to scratch her everywhere. And her rabbit Manson, she loves to clean out his ears. (He loves that too)
Pet-Peeves: Not being petted when she wants to. Not being alowed to play with "her" rabbit because the female rabbits have the run of the house. The new cat not being like "her" kitten. Not being alowed to bury balls in the new lawn or even to walk on it for now!
Favorite Toy: Squeeky toys! The nice thing is (from a human perspective), she keeps on trying to squeek them, even after the squeeker is broken. Ooh, and balls, you see, you have to bury them in the garden!
Favorite Food: Jael is a difficult eater, she won't eat unless it is either delicious or she's really hungry. She loves paunch, she gets that with bread, as we're trying to rebalance the "flora" in her bowels. She gets "Meadowfield" kibble, a Dutch brand.
Favorite Walk: Going to the big park. That's a 30 minute walk, then there are loads of other doggies, and they love to play with her in the water! If mommy feels like it, we walk arround the "pond", a three hour walk. On week days, just the normal close by park.
Best Tricks: Sticking out her tongue on command. Something I tought her using clickertraining and freeshaping when we were waiting for and riding the subway. Besides that, she listens from a big distance!
Arrival Story: When on holiday in Egypt I met some people that found her dehydrated, starved and mollested near a resaurant they were having lunch. She was six weeks old.
They had to leave the next day and I offered to find her a good home and take care of her for the time being. I failed, brought her to the Netherlands to find her a good home here.
Nothing was good enough for her in my eyes so I decided to keep her myself.
Bio: Jael is doing great!
She had some bowel problems due to the starvation as a pup, but is slowly outgrowing them now.
She is slim-built, very well-behaved, has a nice shiny coat and is a very happy dog. Jael is very, very fast, she has had grey hounds and whippets eat her dust! (And that while Jael was already roughing it with her boyfriend for two hours before the fast dogs came out to play) She even managed to catch mocking birds at least three times, although she was so surprised at that, she let them go ;-)
In her first obedience class she won the first price (a trophy) scoring 97 out of a 100 points.
Jael has gone through quite a lot in her short life. The abuse in Egypt, coming to the Netherlands with me, moving in with my mom, moving in with my boyfriend, us breaking up (partially over her), moving to another town, moving back to Amsterdam, where she now lives with me in our own home with a garden!
Jael now has a feline sister, Kitty, and seven rabbits that she loves dearly. Monroe, Norma-Jean, John, Jacky, Marilyn, Manson and Athina.
As I am finally getting my life together, I have started training her again, as oposed to just walking her for hours to get my own head cleared up ;-)
I don't know what she likes more :-)
I really like Jael to be a therapy dog, but it's hard to find any hospital in the Netherlands that uses therapy dogs :-( (If you know of any, let us know!)
I decided to start my own therapy group! Animals are so good for people, the sick and old that are not alowed to have their own should be able to pet and cudle animals!
Jael loves going to the nearby park, only a two minute walk from home to play with her many, many friends. Although Jael is still anxious of new dogs, when she is with her friends, she can take on anything! (Maybe I should get a new brave puppy when I find one just right for us)

Forums Motto: I'm so fast, I can catch birds!

I've Been On Dogster Since:
My mommy is really angry at some people. Now she is very pissed off at the whole world, and I'm afraid to come if she calls me, because I'm afraid she'll get mad at me.
Mom has never been mad at me, she always said that whatever I do wrong, it's her fault for giving me the chance. Now she's mixed up though, I refuse to come to her, so she gets more kranky...
My mommy is really sorry and was cudling me and crying and hugging me. It was sort of nice, this time I didn't do anything wrong. Normally she only hugs and cudles me while she is crying when I get sick, and then she cries and cries and cries some more.
I haven't been sick in aaaaages!
I'm going to get her to make a long walk with me, just to get her thoughts away from the stupid people for a little while. Sad that the stupid people are the people that I like most (after mom off course)!
Yesterday the rabbits were playing outside, and one of the rabbits ate leaves that had fallen in the yard, now her poo stinks! Yugh!
Mommy was up half the night to check up on her. It was not funny, I just went to bed.
The cat spooked me and mommy!
She yelled really loud, and then mommy went outside in the middle of the night in her pj's, and she never gous outside without shoes on. I got really mixed up, because she made me stay indoors.
The cat was fine, but real nasty when I wanted to check up on her, and so was mommy. Mommy send me away while she was cuddling with the cat.
It was soooooo mean. I lived here first!
Now everything is OK again though, mommy is in bed with the cat and I'm lying next to mommy, just like normally, it's just a bit late.
My momy was ill! How did she manage that? She couldn't walk me properly, half an hour was all she managed. She said she wanted me to be tired for new years eve though, and I'm in heat, so no running off leash for me...
It's mean.
Momy tought me that fireworks aren't scarry. I was fine all evening, but momy was sleeping when it was midnight. When I was outside at eleven, I was looking at the fireworks and everything, but my momy was sleeping and then I was scared! It sounded just like a thunderstorm.
I never used to be afraid of thunderstorms, except for when I was staying at grandmomies house and I was left alone in the kitchen during a terrible storm. The windows were shaking, that's how hard it was. Ever sinse then, I'm afraid of thunderstorms.
The cat was laughing at me for being afraid, I was panicking and my momy just wanted to sleep. She ignored me completely, that was sooooo mean, but if she could sleep through this horrible sound, so could I right?
So then I went to sleep!
