Arrival Story:
We had been talking about getting a dog to protect the house, with the baby on the way and me being home alone with her so often. One day I went up to the Humane Society by my seven-months pregnant self, and found a hound/lab mix named Leroy Jones. I fell in love instantly. He had a big orange head and long hound dog ears and- freckles! He was the only dog I had ever seen that had honest-to-goodness freckles! I went home and talked to my husband about him that night, being sure to tell him that he had a great howling bark. He was hesitant- not sure if we had the money or time to take in a dog just yet. But he gave in after I shed a few tears and told him how special Leroy was to me. The next day we went to sign his papers and adopt him. He was scheduled to be neutered the day after, and the day after that, they told us we could come and pick him up. Turns out the night after his operation, he was so anxious he broke a canine tooth on his cage and had to have it removed. So we had to wait one more day to pick him up, but he was well worth all the trouble!

Bio:
Leroy is the best dog I've ever had. He was a wild boy when we fist adopted him but he's now eight years old and spends his days cuddling with my kids and lazing around on the 'doggy sofa'. I could've never asked for a sweeter, more compassionate companion. He is my best friend.
