Arrival Story:
I was at a Civil War reenactment and a lady was looking for good homes for some puppies - I played with one for a while, my parents realized I wasn't going to leave him, so they let me adopt him. He spent the weekend wandering through sutlers and going on the battlefield either in my basket or in my haversack.

Bio:
Travis is my bestest buddy - he sleeps next to me at night with his personal blanket and pillow, greets me when I come home, sits by me when I'm sewing - he's as loyal as they come. He loves to put on a clean bandana every morning and he must eat his breakfast in bed. He is quite the spoiled fellow. His downfall: noisy objects and the ever frightening Hedwig the cat (all 8 pounds of him).

The tragic end

Today was Travis's last with us. He had taken ill in the past two weeks and started to get weaker on Friday. Saturday night he ran a high fever of 105, which we were able to quickly get under control, but ran it back up this morning shortly before having a seizure. We made him as comfortable as possible for his last hour on this earth - pillows and the people he loved surrounded him. He went naturally, the best we can ask for anyone, be they pet or person, and was loved until the end. We will miss you greatly, Travis - may you have nothing but frisbees and comfy beds at the Rainbow Bridge.
