Arrival Story:
Bug was brought to our vet's office by a couple who didn't want her anymore and decided to have her euthanized. While the woman loved her "Lady" the husband was abusive and wanted no part of this pup's life. She was only 2 years old, had already spent the first year of her life in an animal shelter, and had no behavioral or medical issues. The vet refused to end her life so senselessly so Bug became their office dog and quickly won over everyone's hearts. Lady was nick-named Bug and ended up living at the hospital for 5 years while bouncing from one employee's house to another on the weekends. In February of 2005 we had to have our dog Ginger put to sleep due to untreatable medical problems and old age. After a very difficult and terribly sad experience we were leaving the office and the receptionist said there was someone she wanted us to meet. And in came Bug... We said we wanted to think about it for a while. Three hours later we returned to the hospital and brought home the most wonderful and amazing new family member. Bug trotted in the house, jumped on the couch, and said, "Yup, this will work." The rest is history...
Bio:
We don't know much about Bug, including her actual age. She lived in a shelter somewhere in NC for a year before being adopted so they guess she's between 6-8 years old. Despite her grey muzzle, she has the energy of a spritely young pup.
