Arrival Story:
We had always had dogs when I was growing up, but after losing 6 pets (2 dogs and 4 cats) very close together, we decided to wait awhile before looking for a new pet. Then, on May 15th, 2004 we had an intruder in our home and I decided we needed a dog to alert us when someone was around. I didn't want an attack dog, just a noisemaker. The next day there was a classified ad for rat terrier puppies and I made arrangements to go see them. We brought Katie home on Tuesday, May 18, 2004. She was unusual in that she was brown with only a little white on her. She weighed 1.6 lbs and was totally adorable.

Bio:
Katie's breeder didn't do a very good job. She was born with luxating patellas on both legs. She had her first surgery before she was a year old and will be having the other knee done this summer.
