When meowmy came home last night from Grandmaw and Grandpaw's she told me about the tragedy that occurred about 3 or 4 houses down from their house. She took the opportunity to talk to me about what to do in case of a fire. She told me that I had her permission to go outside right away and as far away from the house as possible, but that this is only in the event of a fire. I meowed at meowmy to tell her I understood. Hopefully nothing like this would ever happen at our place, but meowmy wants me to be preparred and to know what to do.
Everycat reading this should remember this too. You may feel scared and want to hide underneath a couch, but that is the worst thing you could possibly do. Please remember to leave the house!
Meowmy was visiting Grandmaw and Grandpaw this afternoon when all of a sudden she heard sirens. She went outside to see what was going on and about 3 houses down from Grandmaw and Grandpaw's house there was a fire. A man came out and it looked like he was either burned or had smoke inhalation. Then they brought out some animals. Two dogs appeared to be just fine. A little black dog was passed out and there was also a little cat too. After working on him/her for a while the firemen were able to revive the little dog, but unfortunately the little cat ended up going to the Rainbow Bridge as they just couldn't bring him/her back. Everyone was cheering for the firefighters when they were able to save the dog. At the same time, meowmy was really sad about the little cat that crossed over the Bridge. Maybe you Bridge kitties will be right there today to greet him/her. It was a cute, fluffy cat with white, black and orange spotted fur. Not sure of it's name. It appeared that there was only that one human in the house at the time. Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery. The ambulance came and took him to the hospital right away.
It's times like this that are a very good reminder to our humans to have a good escape plan in case of a fire and to make all trusted neighbors aware of any animals living in the house.
Hope everycat is having a happy and safe holiday weekend!
Meowmy went to a fish fry last night with grandmaw and grandpaw last night. She came home with leftovers, but just some french fries. I was wondering where my kids meal was. They had kids fish fries for children 12 and under and I'm 9. Meowmy said the fish was really good too and normally she can't stand fish. Next time meowmy warms up those fries, I guess I'll have to go and steal some from her out of spite.
