Arrival Story:
we decided we were finally financially stable enough to get a dog, i had been waiting for years! we looked around online for a few days at different rescues and shelters. finally on sat, jan 24th, we went to the local govt. funded pound (wake county animal shelter). after walking around the place twice, we were focused on 2 dogs, one was a bouncy little spayed, potty trained girl named chu-chu, the other was the shyest dog in the room, named cowboy. after taking chu-chu out, we understood she was very loveable and social. she practically advertised herself to potential adopters! on the other hand, we went to take cowboy out and he wouldn't leave his kennel. i had to go in and sit on the floor. we couldn't bring cowboy outside, he just refused to leave his kennel. at this point, most people would have (and did as we were told by staff) moved on to another dog. i couldn't think that this poor little 4 month old dog would stay here much longer being the way he was. the odds were against him, he was not neutered, not potty trained, not social, not anything people were looking for! so we decided he was the one! we carried him out and paid for him. they chipped him and off we went. cowboy (now dante) has grown to be a great, wonderful, loving and playful dog. he just needed love and some patience. he learned to pee pee outside within days. and now we have a very smart, intelligent dog who is our baby. i called back days later to check up on chu chu, sure enough she was adopted out! so we all had a happy ending!

My New Sister...

Well, today is my new sister's 4th day home. She came from the same place as me, but I barely remember the place with all the cages and other barking dogs, she tells me it's still scarey there.

Mom & Dad have been calling my new sister Chloe, I like her new name. She says she has never had a name, and she likes it too. She is loving all the attention my mom and dad are giving her, she soaks it all in. I felt a little jealous at first, but they keep saying they still love me as much as before, so now I'm ok with sharing them. Hopefully Chloe will learn to love it here, she already said that she really likes my mom and dad, (who are now her mom & dad too). She's catching on real quick about not pooping and peeing in the house. Us civilized dogs aren't supposed to do that stuff.

Well gotta run...no really, Chloe wants to play and as a big brother now, I am obligated to play with her, (I like playing with her anyway though). I'll type more soon!

A Late Entry...

Well, this entry is a little late, but I am ONE year old now! My birthday was October 1st. I got to eat some cake at mom's work and mom had me wear a birthday hat! We walked around Petsmart and got me a toy and a bone, then we walked around lake lynn with the hat on and everyone was saying happy birthday to me! I felt so special! Now I am an ADULT doggie! But I still am mommy and Daddy's little (er-big) baby!
