Today is my Birthday!

Wow, I am 4 years old now. Mom got me when I was 2 years old. I am so happy with my family. I am taking classes once a month in the 4-H dog club my kids are in. I have been helping a new 4-h'er learn how to do obedience, lol.
I did get my CGC last summer. I want to try to become a therapy dog. I will get a bath and special treats today for my birthday!

Obedience and Agility last night

I had a lot of fun last night. Although it was very hard not to want to play with all the other dogs... I knew I was there to learn and work.
We brushed up on basic obedience...I even did a 3 minute down stay. We started working figure eights too.
After obedience we had a short break and I got a drink of water. Then it was time for agility...I did really good on the jumps and learned the cue word jump.
We started learning through...and had to go through a hoola hoop which was a bit confusing. But I started to figure it out when I got my hot dog treats. All of the other dogs were much bigger then me in all of my classes.
That's ok because some of the best dogs are small packages. I am here to prove that Shih Tzu are not just lap dog and companions that we can do all sorts of things.

Beginner graduate obedience and Agility

Oh boy! Mom gave me a bath and trimmed my nails today. I have obedience and agility classes tonight.
I even got a new black leather flat buckle collar for agility...I sure hope she brings lots of treats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its gonna be hard work but...I think I will have fun.
Maybe I will meet some of my old friends from last year and maybe make some new ones.
I REALLY like meeting new dogs...as long as they are friendly too. I don't care if they are REALLY big like the Newfies I made friends with last year or smaller then that.
I was the smallest dog in my class last year.
I wonder if I will be the only "toy" size dog at my classes this year.
Well, I am gonna take a nap and rest up for my classes. I will give you all a report on them tomorrow!!!!

February 27, 2007 My 3rd Birthday!

I am 3 years old now. I have been with my new family for almost a year(next month). Mom's birthday is the day after mine, lol. My kids sang Happy Birthday to me this morning and they gave me a couple bones after breakfast. I am a lucky dog who has a family who loves him!

My first Christmas with my new family

Hi, Everyone! I am so excied about having my first Christmas with my family. Mom says if I am good...Santa will bring me a present or two. I have been such a good boy. I play with my kids and I graduate beginner obedience. Mom taught me how to dance and crawl and we are working on shake.
I had a great Thanksgiving, I even got some turkey and grandma and granpa visited.
I love it when other people come over, I wag my tail like a flag , lol.
Well thats it here for now, time for me to curl up and take my nap.

What to be for Halloween?

Well here it is October and my first Halloween with my new family. I don't know what I should dress up as. Maybe I should just wear a Halloween bandana. If anyone has any ideas pm me. Thanks everyone!

Last Two Dog Obedience Classes

Well, its been awhile since I have told you what I have been up to. Let's see the third class of dog obedience: I was good with heel the sit and we were also working on call back. But I didn't want to do sit/stay or down/stay I was distracted. I mean come on I go to class and there are all these dogs and I want to meet and play with them all. Why do I have to work instead of playing? At class four I did sit/stay and down/stay on leash. That's because Mom made me practice it and practice it. It is kind of fun practising when you are getting treats. I only have 2 more classes of dog obedience and a few weeks to get ready for the fair. I guess that means more practising. But its all great because I get some treats when I am really good.

Mom decided that I needed to work on my down and stay. It was fun because she gave me lots of treats. When I do down I just keep pawing at her hand to get that darn treat. I am getting pretty good at both even with the distractions of other people and my human sisters and brother. Right now I am going to take a well deserved nap!

Obedience class 2

Well, it was a really chilly and windy evening for obedience. Anyways it had been two weeks since the last class. The one before had gotten rained out. Boy, I really wanted to visit and play with everyone, but my big sis was trying to teach me down. Now, I have done down at home but, I really didn't feel like doing down. I wanted to talk and play with the other dogs. The instructor said that big sis and I need to practice alot of down until the next class as well as stay, heel and outside turns. So I guess I will be working hard this wee, hmm maybe I should have done down...then I could sleep more then work on my obedience. Well that's it for now!

Dog Obedience

Hey, guys I just started dog obedience with my older human sister, he he! She plans on taking me to the fair and exhibiting me in beginner obedience. Well, my first class was fun. I was the smallest dog there. There were about 10 dogs. There were some mixed breeds, german shepard, australian cattledog and a labrador to name a few. I really wanted to say hi to all the dogs, but I was in school so I decided I better pay attention to my sis. I had a lot of fun and I did everything she asked although a few times I did get distracted. The instructor said I was a very good boy. At the end of class, all of us dogs got a doggie toy...it was a cowboy fly. I love growling and shaking that fly. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
