My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I agreed we needed a dog to complete our family, so we arranged a meeting with Kichwa's breeder. Of course, as soon as we saw the adorable Beagle puppy, our collective goose was cooked. We were hooked, completely and utterly.
Bio:
Kichwa Tembo means "elephant head" in Swahili. We named her this because she had such long silky ears and looked like Dumbo (but of course we couldn't name our baby Beagle Dumbo!). We had nearly 12 years with Kichwa before she lost her fight with cancer in 2000. Her pictures will always be on our refrigerator, and her memory forever in our hearts.
