Likes:
Phantom loves to ride in the car and go camping and fishing. He enjoys baths and swimming in the river. He likes doing anything that will cause himself to become dirty, thus requiring another bath.

Pet-Peeves:
Phantom hates when the cat or Lexxy is getting more attention than he is. The cat thinks he's a dog, so there is a great competition amongst the two.

Favorite Toy:
Phantom loves stuffed animals with squeakers and his pull rope. My ten year old son is his favorite toy, though.

Favorite Food:
Phantom loves Nutro large-breed puppy canned food and hotdogs. Icecubes and peanut butter take second place.

Favorite Walk:
Any park where there are ducks to chase and lots of kids to pet him.

Best Tricks:
Phantom has basic obedience, can shake, and catch almost anything thrown to him. He can leap straight up in the air to look over our eight foot fence. This has caused great surprise to many neighbors walking down the sidewalk.

Arrival Story:
My husband wanted a Great Dane, but I was unsure. I researched the breed and then the Texas area breeders. When I saw Phantom at 2 weeks of age, on the internet, I knew he was destined to be our new family member. At 3 weeks of age, we visited the breeders. Phantom crawled into my son's lap and feel asleep. It was destined. We had pick of the litter and Phantom it was. I originally planned on showing Phantom in the local Houston area, but due to a personal injury, I was unable to prepare him while he was still young. He would have done very well.

Bio:
Phantom is a wonderful dog and excellent guardian. He is large and slightly clumsy which makes him adorable. When my son and he could no longer share a bed, he made himself into the night watchman. I could not ask for a better pet. He has a half brother, Jaxson, whom a friend owns, that comes over as often as possible to play. It is an awesome thing to see two Harlequin Great Danes playing together. We acquired Lexxy two summers ago and she has definitely increased his energy level. He is not the couch potato that he used to be. Now that he is three, we are not able to take him to the parks anymore. He is very protective of his family, and feels he should always be on guard. We still take him camping, but we try not to introduce large groups of new people to him on these trips. We are still able to have a large number of people over to our home, including new people and this does not trouble him, he just doesn't seem to do well when he is not in the normalcy of his home and surroundings. Phantom does do well at the vet or trips to Petsmart, etc., it just seems to be large areas such as parks that he finds himself on guard. I am not sure if this is common with intact male danes, or if this has anything to do with us getting a female dane, or if it is just our dane. Either way, we have not let it bother us. I like knowing that I have a night watchman in my house while I sleep. Exciting news........We have breed Phantom and Lexxy and are expecting our first litter of puppies on November 10, 2007. We had a beautiful litter of puppies born on November 7th, 2007. All are healthy, happy, bubbly bundles of joy, each with their own special personality. They will be going to their new homes in January 2008.
