Arrival Story:
I never thought I would find a large dog that I loved as much as Atticus. In my mind, he was perfect in every way and no other pup could take his place. But as the days and weeks went by after his death, we knew we needed to do something to fill the big ol' hole left in our lives. In stepped Great Dane Rescue of North Texas (www.danerescue.net) to make it all better. I have to say that finding a pet for your family that comes from a rescue organization, where the animals are fostered in an actual home and thoroughly evaluated in a variety of situations is definitely the best way to go. To be able to say, "We need a dog that's good with cats and children", or "I'd like a dog that's high-energy and very playful" and know that you're going to get exactly that is the coolest thing in the world. The matchmaker at GDRNT is brilliant and has come through for us twice - our family will always be in her debt (we're also indebted to Frannie's foster mom, Jennifer, who took such good care of her following her surgery and to Ellen and the rest of the volunteers at GDRNT who made our adoption possible).

Bio:
Frannie is a big love bug, who wants nothing more than to be by your side or at least near you. She's patient to the point of being a saint with her canine siblings, but watch out - she'll knock you over trying to get to her food or get to the car first.
