Leave a bone for Sammy

Nicknames: Sam, Samuel, Samster, Stinker, Booboo, Samuel L. Jackson, Poo-poo, Pooper, Samwise

Quick Bio:
Likes: Licking anybody's toes (preferably stinky ones)

Pet-Peeves: The Metro Bus, large vehicles, buzzing sounds, big dogs that look at me "the wrong way," bothering me when I want to sleep...and cylindrical objects.

Favorite Toy: Puka, the squeaky ducky

Favorite Food: Popsicles (esp. Melona bars), mangoes, french fries

Favorite Walk: University of Washington Fisheries

Arrival Story: When we first saw Sam we knew he was going to be ours. When I first approached him, he licked my hand and stared up at me with his big brown eyes and furry black face and I knew immediately I had to have him. He lay in our laps and fell asleep immediately and we were in love! We took him home and since that day he has been a permanent part of our family.

Bio: Sammy is a goofball, a grouchy old man and a sweetheart rolled up into one dog! He lives life on his own terms most of the time and only does tricks if there is food involved. Sammy has serious "Lhasa-attitude," you can see it in his walk and his talk (or rather, his bark) and he likes to make it known that he is "BOSS" (or so he thinks). He hangs out with three other dogs--Kona & Peanut (two mini-doxies), and Coco (Shih-Tzu/Lhasa mix). They call themselves the fabulous four and together, they think they are invincible! Sam enjoys playing with his favorite toy, Puka, and likes to play hide/seek with me by hiding it in a spot in the house until I find it, at which point he finds another hiding place for Puka. We can go on and on doing this and he never gets bored. During the day, he is active and playful and enjoys being with the "fabulous four." In the evening, he gets into this "grouchy" funk and wants to lay around and not be bothered. When we go to bed, he turns into a lovey-dovey and wants to cuddle. Sammy is also very protective, he is always "investigating" suspicious noises near the door, and alerting me to what he thinks is "fishy" activity with his funny chicken-bark. He is curious yet cautious at the same time, protective but still friendly with strangers and gives kisses away freely. He definitely has a unique personality and I couldn't ask for a better dog!
