Arrival Story:
Colin had been tethered in a backyard for a year and a half until he escaped. Animal control caught him and brought him to a high kill shelter. His previous owners were contacted and they voluntarily surrendered him to the shelter. Although he was very bright and cute, he was largely unsocialized, so he was not adoptable. Someone at the shelter did not want him put to sleep, so she contacted a prison dog program. They gave him the socialization and training he needed to become a good family pet. We adopted him 6 months later, and he is an awesome dog!

It is estimated that he is mostly Border Collie, but has a smooth coat. He acts like a border, and herds and counts. He is very smart, amazingly so.

Myrtle Beach!

Once again, I was tormented by my parents, who insisted on bringing me to the ocean. Don't they remember that I hate water? Why oh why do they call this a "vacation"?

Anyway, I stayed up on the beach, way above the tide line, and barked when any of my family got too far out in that noisy water. They want to swim in that? Well, I warned them. I was not going to save them.

I know NOTHING about the missing steak.

My mom made me some steaks to put in Dad's lunch. They were too hot to pack, so she left them cooling on the broiler rack on top of the stove. I had been smelling them for a long time, but honestly, I don't know what happened to the steaks. Mom came in, and the broiler rack was still on top of the stove, but the steaks were gone. They accused me, but I didn't eat them. How could I have gotten to the steaks on top of a broiler rack on top of the stove without making a sound? See, so it wasn't me. It was some other, invisible stealth dog who likes steak. Maybe a ghost dog! Yeah, that's it!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't like cashew chicken!

One of my people was eating cashew chicken in the living room and left her food on the coffee table in the living room. When she got up, I saw my chance! I snuck over there to steal her food, because everyone knows ANY people food is better than dog food!

I took a big bite and....YUCK! What is THAT? Celery? Carrots? Cashews? I don't like it! It's BAD! I spit it out quickly, before I got poisoned! You never know what bad food could do to you!

Anyway, my family laughed at me and I was sooo embarrassed. It won't stop me from trying to steal the food again, though...
