Bio:
Gunner grew up in Tiffin Ohio, with several dog brothers and sisters. But he was always special, because he was his mommy's first dog of her own. The backyard was built just for him, with a fenced yard, dog door and a deck for him to sun himself. He was a good host to countless rescue dogs that passed through en route to better lives. He loved to swim and chase ducks when he was younger, wearing a life jacket of course. He liked to try to chase cats in the dark when his mom took him for late night summer walks. Gunner was a very laid back boxer and was happy to be a couch potato most days. He had very good manners most of the time, especially on car rides and trips to the vet. He loved to see Dr. Brad, and anyone else who cared to stop by and feed him biscuits and pet him. The worst experience of our lives was the night Gunner chased a skunk in the yard, and took a direct hit to the face! After many baths of baking soda and peroxcide, things got back to normal, and Gunner was allowed in the bedroom again. Gunner developed an aggressive form of cancer when he was almost 10 years old. He survived two rounds of chemo therapy, but then rapidly went downhill. Gunner passed away on October 1, 2005 and has left a huge void in our hearts.
