Ruby loves lounging in her sunpatch, stalking birds and squirrels, playing with her buddy Moose the cat, eagerly performing tricks for yummy treats, and snuggling with you under the covers.
Pet-Peeves:
When we have to leave for work or school and she can't come with us. Also, when my husband and I kiss, she gets jealous and tries to wriggle her way between us.
Favorite Toy:
Currently devouring a fluffy stuffed duck toy, but loves fetching (and destroying) tennis balls, frisbees, bones, and sticks. LOVES any toy with stuffing she can rip apart.
Favorite Food:
Right now she drools over Charlie Bear liver-flavor dog treats. And she will do anything for a rawhide bully stick.
Favorite Walk:
Loves all the local dog parks (or anywhere off-leash), beaches, ponds, and local schoolyard.
Best Tricks:
Balancing a treat on nose, jumping about 5 feet into the air, wave, gimme five, bang! (play dead)
Arrival Story:
We picked a Vizsla because they are energetic, intelligent, eager to please, social, friendly, and love all people and other pets. We picked out Ruby after patiently waiting for the right litter of beautiful Vizslas. Out of nine pups, baby Ruby seemed just perfect -- not too aggressive nor too submissive, very friendly, smart, and super cute. When she kissed my chin, nestled in my arms, I had to take her home.
Bio:
Ruby is a therapy dog in-training and aids me in performing animal-assisted therapy. Ruby is also a part-time model! :) She works for BowWow Productions and has appeared in humorous greeting card photos by Portal Publications and photographer John Lund.
