Duncan was a birthday present from my husband in March. I was at a writers conference in Augusta, GA and saw the breeders ad in the paper. The breeder was across the river in Jackson, SC. Duncan was 6 weeks old, I saw him, fell in love, and we made the 8 hr. trip back home to Florida. He did excellent and our Holly became his surrogate mom. Duncan loves playing with our 8 month old kittens and 7 yr. old cat too.

Bio:
His dad is wheaton color like Duncan and mom is the popular black color.

Almost 8 months old!

Mom has been SO busy, she seldom lets me get in here to update my diary...but here I am. And she even just posted a new photo of me taken the other day after my first visit to the groomer.
I wasn't crazy about that place.....shhhh! Don't tell anyone, but I was scared! And I kept shaking my head when she tried to shape the fur around my ears. But everyone thought I turned out pretty spiffy.
I'm not a pansy dog though....Scotties aren't! I'm a rough and tumble kind of guy and I love romping in the yard with Holly, my housemate. So I don't stay very clean for very long.
I'll turn 8 months old already next week on Oct. 4. Mom and Dad both agree that taking me home was a very wise decision....I seem to make them laugh a lot. Like when I'm growling at my toys and acting like I have a rat in my mouth. I sure love to play and I love all my toys.
Well, that's it for this time. Mom said I can now go and post something, so before she takes me away from this computer, I'm going to do just that.
Happy Autumn to everyone......OH, I get to go on another vacation next week.....my human parents and Holly are going to the Blue Ridge Mountains to get some cool air and see the foliage there. They've rented a pet friendly cottage, so I'm real excited about that.
I'll be back here with details on our trip when we return.

Hi Everyone

Mom is finally getting around to letting me post an entry for my diary.
I'm now almost 5 months old on July 4.....the whole country will be celebrating this fact, with fireworks and everything.
I've settled in very well at my new home. I sleep all night long in my crate, I play well with the cats, and I love romping and playing with Holly. Mom also now lets me go on the morning 30 minute walks with her and Holly. She didn't think I'd make it with my short, little legs....but I sure did surprise her! I kept right up with her and Holly and now I get to go all the time.
I've now had all my shots and won't have to see the vet again until early August....not sure what that's all about.....but mom said I'll be okay and I don't need to stay overnight. She can take me home later in the day. That's good....because I'd miss everyone.
I've had a real adventure for just a pup! I got to travel from Florida to Massachusetts on a road trip with mom, dad and Holly. Yup....I got to sleep in hotels and everything. We went up there for mom's grandson's high school graduation. We took 2 days driving up, stayed there 4 days, and 2 days driving back. I sure got to sniff a lot of different places. It was lots of fun. Holly travels very well (I heard mom and dad always talking about this) But I surprised them once again......I just curled up on my pillow and slept, just like Holly did in the back seat. Then we'd stop at rest areas to stretch, have water, eat lunch and do our pee's and poops.
Speaking about pee's and poops.....mom's getting very exasperated with me. If SHE remembers to take me out to the yard every 2 or 3 hours, then I do fine. But I have NO way to let her know I HAVE to go.....I don't bark, stare at her or scratch the door to go out. What do you guys do? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd never soil my crate and I do great in there, but mom doesn't want to have to lock me up in there ALL day long.
Well, everyone take care and I'll be back here again soon.
Duncan
