Arrival Story: After graduating college and moving to Minnesota we started researching breeds with the intention of some day getting a dog. After a week of solid research we came across Old English Bulldogges and fell in love. We found an amazing breeder in Massachusettes and placed a deposit on a puppy before the mother had been bred. It was a long wait to find if she was pregnant and even longer wait until the puppies were due (around New Year's). We checked the email every half hour for two days straight. We went out New Year's Eve and came home around 2:00. We went straight to the computer and low and behold Bailey had the puppies! Two more months of pictures being emailed and almost another week in a van for transport and finally she arrived in Buffalo! After five long months of waiting ...here she is and we couldn't be happier!

Bio: I am an Olde English Bulldogge from Berkshire Bulldogges in Massachusettes. The breed is 1/2 English Bulldog, 1/6 American Bulldog, 1/6 Bull Mastiff, 1/6 Pit Bull Terrier. OEBs are not quite as short and wrinkly as English Bulldogs, but taller with longer muzzles and not so stocky. I am not supposed to have as many health problems and I can tollerate warm weather a little easier (though all I've known so far has been cold!)

So I think Mom has lost it. Monday morning she came in at 5:30 and made me get up to go to the bathroom. Dad usually lets me out around 6:15am so I am used to that. But 5:30! I wasn't having it. She had to pull me out of bed and carry me downstairs, this is normal as Dad has to do it too! She gave me breakfast but I was still sleepy. Then she left and was gone for a pretty long time. She came back around lunch time and we played and walked. Then she had this big book she kept looking at and she wouldn't play with me for a while. I figured one day of this would be fine, but Tuesday morning...here she comes at 5:30 again! I was definitely grumpy. She wasn't gone very long this time and I hoped this would be the last, but no. 5:30 again this morning too! This has got to stop!

Wow! Today Mom and I did the Golden Valley Humane Society Walk for Animals. There were SOOOOOO many dogs there I couldn't believe it! It was a little overwhelming. When we first got there we registered then walked around to see everything. There were all different kinds of animals: dogs, cats, horses, ponies, hampsters, ferrets and more I don't remember. After walking around we went to the Bone Zone and I got to sniff around a bunch of different rawhide bones all in a pile. I saw a big one with a little ribbon on it so I picked it up. The lady there got very exicted and gave me a treat, but I had to put the bone back. Bummer! Then we stood in another line and I smelled hot dogs so I was very impatient. This time there were tubs all around with bits of hot dog under water. I hate water! Luckily, I found a small tub with not much water in it and a big chunk of hot dog. I wasn't really sure what to do so I looked and Mom and she said it was okay so I grabbed the big hot dog. Mom was proud of me and this time not only did I get the treat but I got to keep the hot dog too!! Next, we went to a booth where I paw-painted a cool picture and got another treat. While my artwork was drying we had lunch. Mom had a banana and guess what I got...hot dog! This time it was warm. Mmmm...tasty! After lunch I was pretty tired so instead of going on the walk we just walked to the car. What a fun day!

Puppy Kindegarten has been a lot of fun so far. We have learned to Sit, Stay, Heel (sort of), and Come (when I want). Today we worked on Down. I liked the hot dogs Mom was giving me but I didn't really think that I needed to be on the floor to get them. I'm really good at lowering my head almost to the ground to get the treat but I don't think that's what Mom wanted me to do because the trainer came over and nudged my shoulders until I was on the floor. He said that because I think I'm the boss that I am going to have problems learning Down. Naw...I just don't want to be on the cold, hard floor!
