mom tried to poison us!

Last week I caught Mom throwing away all the broccoli in the fridge. This is the stuff she was trying to sneak into our food. Luckily it was only for a week. I guess she found a list of poisonous food for dogs and broccoli was on the list! Not only broccoli, but apples, corn on the cob and pond water... All the things I spit out when she tries to get me to eat them, except for the pond water. I don't know why but I kinda like it sometimes. I guess I eat apples in the yard sometimes too, so that's not her fault either.

I'll have to call her Mommy Dearest for a while... Just to bug her.

(I hope she doesn't feel too badly. We know she didn't mean to slowly poison us.)

I found this on Mommy's Blog...

I didn't mean to scare her, but I did not feel good. I hurt, and I didn't know what to do. Mommy wasn't home, but Daddy took me to emergency. I don't remember much except when I woke up the next day, I was in a strange place, and Mommy wasn't there. Now I know why.

November 7, 2006

I am incredibly sad today. I arrived home from Boston to find out East was in the hospital, and they don’t know what is wrong. I went to visit him tonight, and instead of his usual happy tail wagging self, he was lying motionless with i.v. tubes dangling about him. He didn’t even open his eyes when I called out his name and touched his face. A few minutes later, he lifted his head and looked at me with sad half opened eyes. He made the softest sound when I put my nose to his, then he got sick. East is the sweetest dog imaginable. His only existence in life is to love. (Okay, and to eat too).

what's a bald spot?

Mommy tried something new today. She brushed my hair, but the thing looks and sounds different. It buzzed. She didn't talk much, but I do remember her saying, "Oops! That's an ugly bald spot."

What does that mean?
