Arrival Story:
One day, Kevin and I were on the hunt for a "country" type puppy for his parents to raise on their farm to grow up along with their new grandson. We went to the petstore on a Saturday, and split up in our search. As I came down the aisle, I met Kevin who hurridly said they didn't have anything suitable, and we could go. I happened to glance down the aisle, and saw Project Hope signs and said innocently, "Oh, you must have missed it!" and walked to the crates. I noticed he sort of hung his head slowly....but didn't think anything about it. When I got there, there were Pea and Pearl....two Wirehaired Dachshund Sisters....staring up at me. Kevin and I both looked at each other...didn't dare get them out of their crates for fear of falling too much in love with them. We left, and told the P.H. people we would think about it. 2 weeks passed, and finally we decided we had to take them. We met the P.H. people back at the petstore that night, and it was instant love and affection. The girls made themselves at home quickly that night, and we cannot possibly think how our lives would be without them!

Bio:
Part of it is sketchy, but from what we remember, the girls belonged to a breeder/owner who could no longer take care of them, and they ended up at the Humane Society. They were there awhile, because they really needed to go to a home as a pair. The day they were to be euthanized, Project Hope was called and rescued the dogs again....keeping them together until the right home happened along. I am very glad our home was what they were looking for!
