Arrival Story:
I was looking after my elderly mother, and it was getting very difficult for both her and me. I went to a dog show to have a look at the Cavalier King Charles spaniels, and there were these beautiful Golden Roan English Cocker spaniels in the next enclosure. I thought that they were the most gorgeous dogs I had ever seen. Little did I realise that two months later I would see a litter advertised in the local paper. I went to have a look and there appeared to be about 100 of them romping on the lawn - actually there were only five, but in the end Shannon and I found one another. She was so small she fitted in my hand, and she looked rather like a hampster. My mum died in 2004, but Shannon and Erin were marvellous company for her. I would recommend anybody looking after somebody elderly or handicapped to get a dog - they provide a much needed focus, and I never regretted it.
