Arrival Story:
In April of 2003 I was living on a farm in VA when this beautiful stray limped into the yard while we were welding and drinking beers (my buddy Vargo dubbed him "Stinger" due to his scorpionesque tail). He came back the next day. And the next. And the next. By Day Seven he was officially mine (induction ceremonies included venison ribs from the grill) and began sleeping on my bed. The vet approximated his age at one year, diagnosed him with Lyme disease as well as heartworm, and gave me a THIRD medication for all the ticks that lined his floppy little Snooter ears. The best theory regarding his bloodline (besides simply "mutt") is a pit bull/german shepherd mix. I trained him sit/come/paw using the name "Stinger," but "Snoots" and "Snooter" became his nom(s) de guerre. On the farm Snoots had a dream life, running around with his buddy Clyde, chasing cows, and massively depleting the animal population (wild cats and lots of groundhogs). And though he's a killing machine, with people and other dogs he's always nothing but a big bowl of sugar. In January of 2004 we moved to Cambridge. At first it was tough on him (if a truck backfired he'd DRAG me home), but now he's settled in and already regarded as the coolest dog at our local park.

Bio:
He sits on steps like a person (see photo) and can run 28 m.p.h.
