Stem Cell Therapy

Oscar is scheduled for stem cell therapy on May 6, 2009. He is 12 y/o now and has severe arthritis in his elbows, knees and hips. We are very hopeful as there's been a lot of positive press and outcomes reported w. this therapy -- high success rate, no side effects, long lasting, and of course, would negate (or reduce) the chronic use of NSAIDs or other drugs. Of course, we are also anxious as we do not know anyone who has done this relatively new procedure for dogs.

We searched through Dogster, but could not find any first hand accounts! Hopefully, we will be a success story. So, if anyone is considering this procedure for their own dog and would like a first hand account, I would be happy to impart any helpful info I can. We reside in Orange County, Southern California.

Oscar has just been choosen for the 2008, "Good Dogs," Anti-BSL Calendar -- he's the cover dog for the large sized edition! I certainly don't mind plugging these great calendars because it is my understanding that a percentage of the proceeds will directly benefit the anti-BSL cause!

For a wonderful and dedicated anti-BSL organization, please check out:

ROVERLUTION at www.ROVERlution.org

They are the ones behind the annual, multi-city, LUV-A-BULLY Marches promoting positive breed image and fighting against BSL.

Started by local (Brea, CA) veterinarian, Paula Terifaj, Roverlution is a completely grass roots movement made up of dog owners who are against discriminatory laws and practices.
