Arrival Story:
Daisy is a rescue puppy. We went down to the Helping Hands Humane Society in January to adopt a puppy. We fell in love with Daisy. According to the Helping Hands, her first owners kept her crated all the time and the owners' kids tormented her. I believed we could give her a good home in our apartment. It was hard work and there are still times when she drives us crazy....but between Bark Park, Dog Day Afternoon and her parents' love....I think she's a happy puppy.

So hot

Daisy is frickin' hot...Mommy says it's over 100 degrees out there. And this puppy needs it to be a reasonable 75 degrees. Daisy wants Mommy to do something about it now.

And Daddy's not here. Where can Daisy chew on human toes? Daddy! Daddy needs to come home now. Mommy says he's in a far away place called California. Daddy let's Daisy get away with murder...that's what Mommy keeps saying. But Daddy likes to make me a happy puppy. Nothing wrong with that. Daisy wants Mommy to bring Daddy home. Mommy doesn't let Daisy chew on human toes...not even a test nibble....just one Mommy? One little....OK. She's not budging on the test nibble...not even one.

Today, Daisy spent the day by the pool at Dog Day Afternoon. I splashed around the wading pools with my puppy friends...but the sun was too hot.

Daisy is soooo pooped. It's hard work - playing in the sun. I'm going to take a nap on my couch now.

Good times.

Haircut!

Daisy looks so fierce!
Last Friday, daddy asked for a summer cut for his Daisy at Dog Day Afternoon. The nice ladies shaved all of my hair off....all of it! It's a great cut for these juicy summer days. Everyone loves it and everyone loves Daisy! Plus my mommy and daddy got haircuts on Friday as well. They like to copy Daisy! I'm such a trend-setter!

I also got a report card back from day care. It talked about how Daisy gets to meet all the new puppies. Daisy likes to get the new puppies excited about day care. I introduce them to the regular barkers. It's a big job for Daisy to be part of the welcoming commitee....but I'm up for it. Everyone wants to be friends with Daisy!

And Daisy is still on her meds. It's for my mange. Mark looked it up and the web says mange happens in purebread puppies like Daisy. Mommy has to shoot this icky liquid into my mouth and I try to skip out on the meds. Then mommy gives me some prosciutto...Daisy's such a gourmand!

Love my Bark!

We have a new member of our pack....Mark's daddy is staying with Daisy's family.
Mark's daddy likes to pet Daisy - even when I'm barking at him. I think he gets it. I think he understand that I'm only looking out for my pack and I haven't memorized his scent yet. Besides, Daisy has a hunch that he likes it when she barks at him.

Love my bark!

During one of our daytime walks, Markie took Daisy up to the hill. After doing my business, Daisy sniffs the flowers. Such yummy sniffs. But no daisies for Daisy to sniff. Then I found a blossom with a tasty looking bee. Daisy wants to bit the bee. Then the bee bit back! Owiee! Mean bee!

At Bark Park, one of the little white dogs, Pepper, noticed a garbage truck outside the fence. It looked like the truck was going to attack! So, Daisy joined the other doggies in defending Bark Park. We barked at that truck until it dropped the garbage bin and ran away, so scared it tucked tail behind its legs.

Love my bark!
