The Chocolate Incident

Well, last weekend me and Mommy and Daddy went on a car trip to North Carolina to visit Mommy's brother. I was such a good girl in the car. I have to wear a seatbelt which is a bit restraining, but I can still move around. Mommy and Daddy put my comfy bed on the seat so I slept most of the ride. I couldn't understand why other doggies get to roam free in the car but Mommy and Daddy explained that people wouldn't let their human babies roam free in the car cause it's dangerous in case we get into an accident or something, so I have to wear a seatbelt too. I guess Mommy & Daddy love me a lot so I don't complain about it - I know it's for my own good.

Anyways, I was a good girl the whole weekend until about an hour before it was time to leave. Mommy and Daddy and Uncle Rob went out for breakfast and left me. Well, I was fed up so I started snooping around Uncle Rob's stuff and buried away, my super sniffing nose found something yummy to eat -- mmmmmmmmm . . . . CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Well, when everyone finally came back - it felt like days but Mommy & Daddy said it was only about 45 minutes -- there was a great commotion cause Mommy discovered the wrapper of the chocolate. She was very upset that the label say something like 85% cocoa. I don't know what that means but it was very tasty but it also must have been bad cause everyone was very upset and said I had to go to the vet right away.

So, long story longer, we went to the vet and the vet was very concerned about the chocolate I ate - she said it was the worst possible chocolate I could eat! But it was so yummy. So the vet told Mommy and Daddy that she was going to have to make me throw up. So, I threw up . . . lots and lots. It was lucky I had breakfast before I ate the chocolate and it was lucky that I didn't eat the wrapper and it was lucky that Mommy & Daddy discovered it quickly. They told me afterwards that I could have died. I don't really know what that means but they explained that I wouldn't get to be with them anymore and they were very upset. Well, I want to be with them always so I'm not going to eat chocolate anymore.

Also, I want all the doggies and their Mommys and Daddys to know that chocolate is lethal to dogs and a 1 ounce bar of baking chocolate, 4 ounces of sweet cocoa or 10 ounces of milk chocolate can kill a 10 pound dog. The higher the cocoa content the more lethal the chocolate. If you think your doggy might have eaten chocolate, contact your vet immediately.

A "little brother?"

Mommy & Daddy keep asking me if I want a little brother They say it's all up to me. I think they want to bring another doggie home for me to play with. But they know I don't like every dog I meet. They say I'm going to pick who gets to come home. I think they're hoping I don't make a big stink about it. They said if I did then I'd only have humans as friends cause the kitties don't like me much. I don't know, I really like humans but maybe a little brother would be nice - just as long as he's not as cute as me!!! Hmmmm . . .

The kitties are FREE!!!

Mommy & Daddy let the kitties have the run of the house! Which means I'm having a fabulous time chasing them all over. Mommy & Daddy keep yelling my name loudly all the time and tell me to go to my bed a lot. Maybe I'm chasing the kitties too much? Nah! How could it be too much? It's too much fun.

But wait!!! One of the kitties is on to me. The little orange one must be taking lessons from Norman cause he doesn't run away from me anymore. If he doesn't run, how can I chase him. It's totally no fun at all. I just go sit back on the couch. But the little black one still runs - wooooohoooooooo! The chase is ON!

More kitties

Well, the other week Mommy & Daddy brought home two more kittens. Wooooohooooooo more kitties to harrass, I'm so excited! I hope they aren't like Randy and attack me. That wasn't much fun. All I wanted to do was eat his poop out of his litter box and he got all psycho and jumped on my back! Mommy and Daddy said it was something about him being territorial. Which I just don't get because I share my space with everyone. Anyways, back to the kitties. Mommy & Daddy took me in to meet them in the (off-Piggy-limits) guest room and they are very cute. The orange one smacked me on my nose. The black one just looked at me. I can't wait to chase them when they're free! Ha ha ha ha ha!
