A very beautiful and smart pup Bella barked in our Schnauzers Rule group about this announcement. She was kind enough to want to share and gave me permission to bark in my diary about this.
In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair of dogs.
This substance, called "amo-bacter canis" has been linked with the following symptoms, especially in female humans:
Reluctance to cook
Reluctance to perform housework
Reluctance to wear anything but jeans or sweats
Reluctance to work except in support of a dog
Physical craving for contact with dogs (may be an addiction)
Beware: If you come in contact with a female human affected by this substance, be prepared to talk about dogs for hours on end.
This has been a Public Service Announcement

There were a bunch of cute pups around Dogster dressed for Easter. Seems like every page I sniffed around on had somepup wearing bunny ears. I was even sporting some myself.
Now the Easter bunny didn't come to my house this year. I didn't get a single egg or jelly bean. But I had a visitor to my page and he left me a special gift basket.
Yep, the Real Deal Peter Schnauzer Tail
Thank you Peter!

This is boogus. I have a couple of pup pals, Chloe and Roxy that got an egg hunt. They have pictures on their pages and they are surrounded by eggs. Each of those eggs had a treat inside for them!
My pal Jelly got her very own Easter basket. It had all kinds of goodies all for her!
No one here got Easter baskets. They are getting too old for egg hunts ! I am only two and the baby of the family. I want an Easter basket, I want an egg hunt!
My mean human sister told me to go outside and hunt for eggs. I am no dummy. I know there are no eggs out there in the yard. I would be hunting from now until forever looking for some treat-filled plastic eggs. Humph.
It's just all Easter hype.

It is a super nice day. Most of the snow is melted from our yard. The sun is shining and the wind is not blowing. It is a great day to play outside.
Mommy and Daddy were doing a little bit of yard work stuff. Then brother came outside and got our frisbee. Now we usually like to play with brother. He will toss the frisbee and me or Drover will go get it and run around with it. Then brother tosses it and we do that over and over.
Not today. It is not a fun game with brother and Daddy tossing the frisbee back and forth to each other. The thing hardly ever touches the ground and I can't jump high enough to reach it. Daddy and brother would tell us to come over to one of them and then 'bout the time we would get there, they would throw it. Back and forth, run, run, run. I got tired out and thirsty. What a dumb game. It was a game of Keep Away from Zoe. They can keep that old frisbee game as far as I am concerned.

I have been hearing a lot about goin' green. I have been thinking about this. I don't think goin' green is a good thing.
I go yellow and brown. If a pup goes green they have been eating something bad.

I just love it when Daddy is home and takes us for walks. We went down our regular walking place this morning before it got muddy. We haven't been down along the river for a super long time.
It was great to head down there. So many things to sniff! We smelled coyote and deer. We saw Canada geese and some kind of ducks. We walked through Bunnyville but we didn't see anybunny.
I had to tree a porcupine. Bark, bark, bark you sticker bush, you! Get on up that tree and don't bother us! It shuffled up the tree as fast as it could.
What a great walk. We even got to be off our leash while walking home. Daddy even had treats. He would call us back and give us cookies. I did better than Drover and Cindy. I came back right away and then I stuck pretty close to Daddy whenever he called the others. I am much more obedient.
I hope we can keep going along the river walk now. Daddy has to go to work tomorrow but maybe over the next weekend we can go again.

You know how I have a loveseat lookout perch at our big living room window? You know how this is a great spot to sit and watch the goings on in my neck of the neighborhood? You know how this is where I sit to do my policedog watching job?
You know how all those cows went past our house yesterday? You know how Cindy and Drover also got on my loveseat lookout and we were all barking?
They caused me to get fired! That's right. Today my loveseat lookout got all turned around and I can't get to the window now. I have to do my police work from the end of the couch. I can only see one direction now. I can see sheep, cows and horses way over there. But I can't see cars and trucks and stuff from the other direction. How am I going to do my job right?
This is all their fault.

I should sleep real good tonight!
Cows! Must have been about a gazillion of them on our road. Even Drover and Cindy climbed up on my loveseat lookout to get some good barking in. Ain't no stopping two Schnauzers and a Kelpie from barking at that many cows. We for sure said yes when asked if we wanted to go outside to finish our barking. Arrrooo! That was fun!
And, shoot, later this afternoon our vet lady came over. She likes me so much, she makes housecalls! But since we don't see her very often we had to bark a lot when she pulled into our driveway. I barked at her and then I went into cute, submissive mode. No one can resist me! I got to be examined up on our kitchen table because of my cuteness. That was cool! She said I had nice teeth and all my other parts either looked or sounded good. She gave me my shots and I was a very good pup.
All of us had fun snooping in the plastic boxes she carried in. She had all her vet stuff in those boxes. Plenty of good smells but nothing to eat. My family gave us some of our yummy cookies because we were good patients.
I am just not used to that much action around here. I am about ready for bed.

It was too weird, pups. Yesterday we had a pawmail from Dogster saying "congrats, you are one of the diary picks of the day." Yeah! Great news! So we clicked the link and sure enough there was my smiling face. But later on we clicked and it was a whole different set of pups! And then another click and poof, I was back! Come and go, all day. Maybe it was one of those time warp deals.
No more escaping through the fence for me. Daddy dug and dug and moved that snow so we can't walk close to the fence anymore. It's too far to jump too.
But this is weird too! While Daddy was digging in all that snow, he found my big Jolly ball! Yippee! I think it had been there along! Buried under that big snowdrift.
Our snow is melting and we are getting more and more grassy places to play and run around in. Mommy and brother stay outside and play with us more too. Then we bring in dried grass and put it on the furniture! And we make neat muddy pawprints on the kitchen floor. Spring is just around the corner in our neighborhood.

I did it again this morning when Mommy and Daddy were right there close at the chicken house. I went through the fence again into the neighbor's pasture.
Daddy came out of the chicken house and said, in his soldier voice, "Zoe."
So I was just right there and came back right away. Easy peasy.
I think I won't be able to do that much longer. I think Daddy has some plans to put a stop to my trick.
On another note. I guess my family is going green. Or else they are just lazy. I had to "recycle" my Valentine picture from last year. I am gonna have to do that with my Easter picture too.
We are just too busy with school to make you a new picture, Zoe. Yeah, right. All they do is mess on their computers. But they don't have "time" to make me something new for my Dogster page.
