My first day on Dogster!

I've been begging Mommy for the last few days to get me set up on Dogster, and we've been busy before now, but today we were able to sign up! Yay! I've already made some great Pup Pals, and I can't wait to get to know more of you!
I have a bunch of kitty friends, my family will probably get them set up on Catster tomorrow! I think they're excited about that. I know I am!

So, I went for a walk this evening. I usually go for 2 walks every day with my sister Cindy. We almost always walk along the river. So anyway, we went there this evening, and there were 2 dogs down there swimming in the river! Then they came over to see us! They weren't supposed to be there by our river, so I started growling at them and telling them to go away. It took a little while, but I did scare them off!

Stampede!

This is so cool! I was just outside in my yard. There's a pasture with horses in it right next to us, and I started barking at some of the horses! A couple of them started running around, then more, then all six of them were running around and chasing each other! Starting a stampede really tired me out, so I came in and crashed on the couch.

This morning, Mom wasn't taking me and Cindy for our morning walk, so I decided to do something about it. I started running around bugging the cats and Cindy, chewing on my toy basket, chewing on people, and generally being obnoxious. I told Mom, "Ve have our vays to get on a valk. Mvahahahahaha!" So finally she and brother took us for our valk- oops, I mean walk.

Hoops, fleas, and brushes

Mom was brushing me earlier. I don't like being brushed, it's one of my pet peeves. But Mom brushes me anyway. She says it makes me look pretty and fluffy, but I'd rather be messy. She was brushing me, and I was trying to well, bite her. She kept telling me "No!" and made me lay on my back. But finally the torture was done and she let me up and gave me a cookie.

On Monday is graduation night at my obedience class, and when the class started the instructor told our humans to teach each of us dogs a trick to show everyone on grad night. Mom's been teaching me to jump through a hoop! It's fun, and I'm good at it- as long as Mom's holding a treat. I was working on jumping through it outside tonight. I did good! I can't wait for graduation!

After we were done with the hoop, Mom put this gloppy stuff on my back. It smells kinda strange. Mom said it's to keep fleas away from me. I don't know why I need it, I've never seen any fleas around here. Oh well.

Graduation Night!

Guess what, guess what! Tonight was graduation night at my dog obedience classes! It was so much fun! And I got a diploma and everything!

After everyone got to the class, we played Lassie Says. If Lassie said to do something, we had to do it, but if Lassie didn't say it, we didn't have to. I did good! They were eliminating people till they had 3 winners, and I almost made it! I was the 4th! Then we played a silly game, we were divided into 2 teams, and each team had a pile of t-shirts at the other end of the room. Each person had to take their dog to the shirts, put one on their dog, come back to where the other dogs were, and take the shirt off. Then the next person would go. I didn't like that game as much, it was silly. But it was funny to watch my friends have shirts on! After that we had our trick time. I did great-I jumped through a hoop. Everybody clapped! Then we got our diplomas! Mom and me went up to get mine. There's a picture of me and it up there!

I was tired after all that. I crashed in the truck and slept all the way home. When we got home, Mom and Dad served up cake and ice cream. It was my graduation cake. I can't quite figure it out, though. The cake said "Happy Birthday Joel" (my human Brother) and I didn't get to eat any! Oh well, I still had a blast!

I need to eat some grass

I'm not feeling very good today. This morning I was in the basement eating dead bugs and spiders. A little while later I didn't feel very good. I came upstairs and threw up. I lay down on the couch, but then I started feeling weird again, so I got on the floor and went under a table and threw up.
I lay down on my princess pillow on the couch again. Mom cuddled me for awhile, then tucked a towel around me. I slept for awhile, and I'm feeling better now.
I sure looked cute and pitiful when I was wrapped up in the towel. Heehee!

I shall call him Squishy, and he shall be mine!

A couple of days ago, Mom got me a new toy-a bouncy plastic ball almost as tall as me! It was so much fun to play with, I'd chase it and roll over it and try to chew on it. But then Sister threw it too hard. It landed against the fence and got a leak in it! It got soft and squishy, and it was still fun to play with! I was able to pick it up and carry it around the yard. I decided to call it Squishy. Now Squishy's real flat, but I still like to play with him! When some one throws him he looks like a flying green beanie hat. He's also comfy to take a nap on.
Mom got me a new big ball, like Squishy but not,um, squishy! That one's fun to play with too! *sigh* I love my Mom.

On my way to good citizenship

On Monday I started my Canine Good Citizen classes. I think I'm going to learn how to obey driving laws and help people cross the street. But Mom says that's not what I'll be learning.

On Monday evening me and Mom and Dad and Cindy drove up to the place where I had my obedience classes. (Cindy's taking obedience class now.) For about an hour while Cindy was taking her class me and Mom wandered around, I barked at dogs, peed and pooped and then it was finally time for my class, I had to stay in my crate for half the class! The instructor was talking to the dog parents.
After that we walked around, sat, did downs, walked around some more, and oh, oh! I got my first taste of hot dog! The instructor came over and I was sitting nice and didn't jump up on her, so she gave me hot dog! It was yummy. Anyway, that's about all we did. It was kinda a basic obedience review. I can't wait for my next class!

We're going to go camping over the weekend! I'm excited, I've never been camping before! I'll get to sleep with my human sister. Cindy's coming too. My cat family will stay home and take care of our place. I'll be sure to tell you all about it when we get back!

Camping!

Me and my family got back from our camping trip a couple of days ago, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

On Friday my human family was running around the house and getting the trailer all packed up. Me and my sister Cindy could tell something was going on and were getting a little nervous/excited. When we got in the truck and started driving, I was fine. I lay down on Sister's lap but Cindy was nervous. She would try to climb into the front seat, lay down, get up, sit down, get up.
After we had been driving a little while we stopped at a rest stop. Mom and Dad took us for little walks. I was able to bark at a bunch of people and dogs! Pretty soon we got back in the truck and were off again. The rest of the ride was pretty boring. I lay down a lot, but Cindy was still nervous. She finally lay down, though.
After we got to the campground and got the trailer situated, me and Cindy were able to look around a little. Cindy found a little path that led to the river! It was real close to us! Then we went back to the trailer, sat down and watched the guys finish getting the trailer set up. Then we were able to go in-Cindy and me were tired from the drive, so we crashed. For the rest of the day we mostly slept, but we took a few walks around the campground. There were lots of people and dogs I had to bark at! We had a campfire when it started getting dark and made S'mores. I wasn't able to eat any, though.
That night Cindy slept on her covers on the floor, and I got to sleep in Sister's bed! It was fun, during the night I spread out more and more and gave Sister less room to sleep. Heehee!

The next day, after the humans had had breakfast and everything, we went for a drive. I laid down again. Cindy was nervous again, but not as much as the first drive. After awhile the humans stopped and had lunch. Me and Cindy had to stay in our boxes in the truck while they ate. It started raining while the humans were eating, so we drove back to the campground. That drive had tired us dogs out too, so we crashed again.
That night I started out in sister's bed, but partway through the night I decided I'd rather be with Mom and Dad so I went over there, but I didn't want to settle down right away, and Mom and Dad wanted to go to sleep, so I got put in my box for the rest of the night.

The next day Dad and Mom took us dogs for walks in the morning. Once Mom went into the bathroom, so Dad was holding me and Cindy. Then Cindy squatted down and made a cool water fountain-type-thing. I could tell she was making it for me, so I ran through it! But then Daddy started yelling at us, and Mom wiped me off with a Wet Wipe thingy when we got back to the trailer. I can't quite figure that out.
Later that day Dad and Brother left to go fishing, but me, Cindy, Mom and Sister stayed at the trailer. We took some walks, took some naps, and played a game called Boggle. I didn't like that game very much-it was real noisy and I was trying to sleep. After Dad and Brother got back they roasted hot dogs over the campfire for supper. I didn't get to eat any. They sure smelled good, though. *sigh*
That night I slept with Mom and Dad. I was kinda cold, so during the night I scooched farther and farther down into the sleeping bag. It was nice and toasty down there.

The next morning the humans were getting everything packed up to head home. Mom and Sister took me and Cindy for one last walk around the campground and down to the river. I barked goodbye to everyone. When we got back to the campsite we loaded up in the truck again and headed back home! After we got home us dogs had to look around the house and yard to make sure everything was ok-no robbers or anything. It was ok!
And that was my camping trip.

Regression

I'm regressing to my early days. I've been chewing on furniture, biting, and worst of all, pooping in the basement! I've been having a lot of time outs lately. My family's getting kinda frustrated with me, so if anyone has any suggestions, PM them to us! I'm sure my humans would appreciate it. My kitty friend Uncle Tod (the one who hates dogs) suggested beating me into a bloody pulp, but I don't really like that idea.
Personally, I think my regressions could be rooted in some deep psychological problem, most likely something that happened to me when I was a puppy. Subconciously, I'm remembering that incident, whatever it was, and that's making me misbehave. I'm not sure Mommy will buy that, though.
Oh, oh! On Saturday June 17th, I'm 8 months old! Yipee!

Camping again! Woohoo!

Last weekend me and my family went camping! Yay! It was so much fun. I got to walk around the campground barking at the other dogs and people, sleep in Mom and Dad's bed, and go for car rides! Oh, and once we got lost in the tall bushes, but my human sister found the way back to camp.

On one day we all went up to the rescue home we got Cindy from and visited. Cindy was having fun playing with the other dogs. I was kinda scared at first cause a bunch of great big dogs were coming up and sniffing me. I stuck close to Mom. But after awhile I relaxed a little, and I looked around the yard we were in. There was one little dog, Chloe, that kept coming up to me and sniffing me and trying to play with me and stuff. I played with her a little, but then she was getting to close to Mom, so I growled and nipped at her (Chloe) to protect Mom.
I heard my family talking about adopting Chloe so I'd have some one to play with. I think that'd be cool! As long as she doesn't threaten Mom any more.
While we were at the rescue home we also visited some kitties. We saw some little bitty kittens, then some adult cats in another room. One of the cats hissed and scratched at me. I was trying to tell her that I like kitties, but I guess she didn't believe me. Oh well.

On a different day, we all went for a hundred mile hike in the blazing sun! We stopped a couple of times along a river to rest. I got drinks in the river, the water was yummy! I liked to walk in the water to cool off my paws. Cindy, though, she's so silly! She would lay down in the river! She told me that cooled her off, but I still think that's silly.
After we had went about 50 miles we turned around. I was getting pretty tuckered by that time-I sat down in the shade a few times and didn't want to go until I'd had a rest. So Mom put me in Daddy's backpack! It was so much fun-I just had to lay down in there, stick my head out, and enjoy the ride! I got to do that a couple of times. I was telling Daddy that he should let Cindy take a turn riding, but he never put her in the backpack. I don't know why. Oh well.

Whoosh! Writing about all that wore me out! I'm gonna go take a nap.
