Mommy did a dum thing the other day. Well, let's face it, she does dum things all the time but this dum thing was a doozy. Lemme tell ya 'bout it.
She'd been wantin a cup of tea for a few days but just never fired up the water to brew the cuppa. But she did the other day. She put a bit o' water in the nice red tea kettle. Jus 'nuf for one cup. She put the kettle on the nice glass cook top stove. The stove that was only 2 years old. Turned it on "high" to get the thing to boil up.
Keep in mind the whistle part of the tea kettle doesn't, well, whistle.
Then she asked Brother to help her do sumfin on the 'puter. Sumfin 'bout resizin a cool picture to put on the Schnauzers Rule group page. It was Very 'portant stuff for Me at least.
Days later, Brother went into the kitchen to forage. He called out to Mommy, "does the stove always make cracklin noises?"
Mommy came a-hustlin. She saw the nice red tea kettle. It had turned black. It does that when it gets hot. This time it was Really black.
She turned off the burner. She gently tried to take the kettle off the glass stove top. It wouldn't. She said a couple of bad words. Right there in front of Brother!
Brother googled. Mommy got out the owner's booklet.
They let the kettle sit until everything was way cool.
The kettle Did come off. See, it had fused to the glass cook top. Not 'posed to let it boil dry. Dum thing to do Mommy.
Then Mommy cleaned the burner area.
Parts of the glass cook top came off. And there was a crack in the glass.
Mommy knew it was her fault so the warranty wouldn't cover the cost of repair. Checked out how much repair would cost. Talked to a nice lady on the phone. Repair would cost nearly $600!
That's a lot of cookies and toys for Me!
Plan B. Mommy talked to Daddy on the phone. He suggested shopping for a new stove.
She heated up the water for her tea in the microwave. Yeah, keep calm and drink tea Mommy.
She left later to go shoppin for a new stove.

So yeserday, Big Time Barkin when the Lowe's truck backed into My driveway. A couple of guys hopped out. I know this 'cause we were all out in the yard. They went in the front door (I guess, I can't see that part of the house from My yard). Then I saw them take the old broken stove out and put it in their truck. Then they took in the new stove.
Super time barkin! They pulled out as we barked them away.

Mommy cooked dinner last night on the new stove. But she won't be heatin anymore water for tea on the new stove. She bought sum electric tea kettle for that.

That was one expensive cup of tea.

BOL, BOL those peeps, ya gotta watch em all the time. A new stove is nice as long as it isn't coming out of your food, toy and treat funds. Mum sometimes just uses the coffee maker to heat a pot of water. She runs it through and then she has enough hot water for a couple of cups of tea. At least you got some extra good barking in at those delivery guys.

My Mom is too lazy to boil water on the stove top for tea she just puts it in the microwave and waits the 3-4 minutes...Wait Mom just said she isn't lazy she just can't cook or boil water.

Mommy says the only reason she has a kitchen is that it came with the house.

She does have a whole tea rit-u-all thing with hot water, a tea pot, loose leaf tea, the whole deal. So she Really needs Lots of hot water most times to make her tea. Ya know, so's she can drink tea, watch old movies and crochet.

Don't worry, my folks have tons of money. They save by buyin me Ol' Roy dog food and I have to eat bugs for treats.

Wow - what an expensive "Oopsie". Momma says she has a electric water kettle that she was going try an sale on her yard sale but now she is going to pack it up and send it to your momma because she apparently needs one - BOL, BOL. I'll make sure she puts some treats in the package for you, Dover and Tux.

I went looking for antlers today in the neighbors lot and couldn't find any. I haven't forgotten...

Perhaps your Mommy needs to buy tea already made. I am sorry about the new stove. Mommy thought about buying one with a glass top the last time we bought a stove, but she heard from some of the peoples who have them that they didn't like them so she bought a regular electric stove. Mommy mainly drinks Cokes, Dr. Pepper, or root beer.

My Mommy boils water in an electric kennel. It automatically shuts off to prevent it from boiling dry. Thank dogness! She drinks water, tea, diet Pepsi, diet Dr. Pepper, milk and juice.

Mommy did kind of the same thing this summer but with a pizza. She had the pizza in the oven, fell asleep and woke up about 4 hours later. The pizza was totally black and had to be thrown out. Us pups sure have to watch those Mommies.

Mommy says to tell you that she doesn't believe you eat Ol'Roy dog food and bugs for treats. Well, maybe the bugs for treats when you are outside. BOL!

The peepoles 'round here would call that Blackened Pizza, Cajun style.
And, I Do eat bugs, when I am outside. I like grasshoppers and some kinda black beetle guys. I Might have to start eatin Ol' Roy since Daddy will have to pay for the new stove. :-0

I am thinking that I should write down some of the stupid things Mom has down. A couple weeks ago, she looked behind her mini-van, saw that Oldest Lad's car was blocking her path, so that she would have to back out a different direction, then she went on ahead and backed out right into Oldest Lad's car. She got a nice dent in her back bumper and more pieces fell off of Oldest Lad's already mostly-just-pieces bumper.

Scratch all that I just mentioned. Mom has never, ever done anything stupid, and I'd just like to go on living a nice life here in Suburbia.
