Arrival Story:
My husband wouldn't let me foster for basset rescue because he was afraid I would fall in love and want to keep the foster dog. He said I could transport. We volunteered to help transport Libby from Boise, ID to Olympia, WA. We met the people bringing her to Hood River in a parking lot. Libby looked at me, wagged her tail, jumped up and gave me a kiss. I failed transport then and there. We went ahead and sent her on to Cascadia Basset Rescue to be spayed, chipped and get her shots but we went and picked her up the very next weekend to come live with us forever. So Libby is a transport failure!
Bio:
Libby was purchased as a birthday gift for an 8 year old girl. When she was 1.5 years old, her family had to move and dumped her at a relatives house because she was inconvienent. She was running loose on 60 acres and was in season. Fortunately these people contacted a basset breeder who picked up the dog and got her into rescue. She was not pregnant (whew) and is now spayed. She was named Liberty because she was born on the 4th of July.
