Simply Listening to God

Hi diary and friends. This was emailed to my mommy and she wanted to put it here so everyone who reads my diary can see it, read it, absorb it, and take time to Listen to God today.
Love Forward to you all,

TO MEET SUCH A MAN
I sat, with two friends, in the picture window of a quaint restaurant
just off the corner of the town-square. The food and the company 'were both especially good that day.

As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street. There, walking into town, was a man who appeared to be carrying all his worldly goods on his back. He was carrying, a well-worn sign that read, 'I will work for food.' My heart sank.

I brought him to the attention of my friends and noticed that others
around us had stopped eating to focus on him. Heads moved in a mixture of sadness and disbelief.

We continued with our meal, but his image lingered in my mind. We finished our meal and went our separate ways. I had errands to do and quickly set out to accomplish them. I glanced toward the town square, looking somewhat halfheartedly for the strange visitor. I was fearful, knowing that seeing him again would call some response. I drove through town and saw nothing of him. I made some purchases at a store and got back in my car.

Deep with in me, the Spirit of God kept speaking to me: 'Don't go back to the office until you've at least driven once more around the square.'

Then with some hesitancy, I headed back into town. As I turned the
square's third corner, I saw him. He was standing on the steps of the store front church, going through his sack.

I stopped and looked; feeling both compelled to speak to him, yet wanting to drive on. The empty parking space on the corner seemed to be a sign from God: an invitation to park. I pulled in, got out and approached the town's newest visitor.

'Looking for the pastor?' I asked.

'Not really,' he replied, 'just resting.'

'Have you eaten today?'

'Oh, I ate something early this morning.'

'Would you like to have lunch with me?'

' Do you have some work I could do for you?'

'No work,' I replied. 'I commute here to work from the city, but I
would like to take you to lunch.'

'Sure,' he replied with a smile.

As he began to gather his things, I asked some surface questions. Where you headed?'

' St.. Louis '

'Where you from?'

'Oh, all over; mostly Florida .

'How long you been walking?'

'Fourteen years,' came the reply.

I knew I had met someone unusual. We sat across from each other in the same restaurant I had left earlier. His face was weathered slightly beyond his 38 years. His eyes were dark yet clear, and he spoke with an eloquence and articulation that was startling. He removed his jacket to reveal a bright red T-shirt that said, 'Jesus is The Never Ending Story.'

Then Daniel's story began to unfold. He had seen rough times early in
life. He'd made some wrong choices and reaped the consequences. Fourteen years earlier, while backpacking across the country, he had stopped on the beach in Daytona. He tried to hire on with some men who were putting up a large tent and some equipment. A concert, he thought.

He was hired, but the tent would not house a concert but revival services, and in those services he saw life more clearly. He gave his
life over to God

'Nothing's been the same since,' he said, 'I felt the Lord telling me
to keep walking, and so I did, some 14 years now.'

'Ever think of stopping?' I asked.

'Oh, once in a while,
when it seems to get the best of me But God has given me this calling.
I give out Bibles. That's what's in my sack. I work to buy food and
Bibles, and I give them out when His Spirit leads.'

I sat amazed. My homeless friend was not homeless. He was on a mission and lived this way by choice. The question burned inside for a moment and then I asked: 'What's it like?'

'What?'

'To walk into a town carrying all your things on your back and to show
your sign?'

'Oh, it was humiliating at first. People would stare and make comments.
Once someone tossed a piece of half-eaten bread and made a gesture that certainly didn't make me feel welcome. But then it became humbling to realize that God was using me to touch lives and change people's concepts of other folks like me.'

My concept was changing, too. We finished our dessert and gathered his things. Just outside the door, he paused. He turned to me and said,
'Come Ye blessed of my Father and inherit the kingdom I've prepared for you. For when I was hungry you gave me food, when I was thirsty you gave me drink, a stranger and you took me in.'

I felt as if we were on holy ground. 'Could you use another Bible?' I
asked.

He said he preferred a certain translation. It traveled well and was
not too heavy. It was also his personal favorite. 'I've read through it
14 times,' he said.

'I'm not sure we've got one of those, but let's stop by our church and
see' I was able to find my new friend a Bible
that would do well, and he seemed very grateful.

'Where are you headed from here?' I asked.

'Well, I found this little map on the back of this amusement park
coupon.'

'Are you hoping to hire on there for awhile?'

'No, I just figure I should go there. I figure someone under that star
right there needs a Bible, so that's where I'm going next.'

He smiled, and the warmth of his spirit radiated the sincerity of his
mission. I drove him back to the town-square where we'd met two hours earlier, and as we drove, it started raining. We parked and unloaded his things.

'Would you sign my autograph book?' he asked. 'I like to keep messages
from folks I meet.'

I wrote in his little book that his commitment to his calling had
touched my life. I encouraged him to stay strong. And I left him with a verse of scripture from Jeremiah, 'I know the plans I have for you,
declared the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you; Plans to give you a future and a hope.'

'Thanks, man,' he said. 'I know we just met and we're really just
strangers, but I love you'

'I know,' I said, 'I love you, too.' 'The Lord is good!'

'Yes, He is. How long has it been since someone hugged you?' I asked.

'A long time,' he replied

And so on the busy street corner in the drizzling rain, my new friend
and I embraced, and I felt deep inside that I had been changed. He put his things on his back, smiled his winning smile and said, 'See you in the New Jerusalem.'

'I'll be there!' was my reply.

He began his journey again. He headed away with his sign dangling from his bedroll and pack of Bibles. He stopped, turned and said, 'When you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?'

'You bet,' I shouted back, 'God bless.'

'God bless.' And that was the last I saw of him.

Late that evening as I left my office, the wind blew strong. The cold
front had settled hard upon the town. I bundled up and hurried to my
car. As I sat back and reached for the emergency brake, I saw them... a
pair of well-worn brown work gloves neatly laid over the length of the
handle. I picked them up and thought of my friend and wondered if his
hands would stay warm that night without them.

Then I remembered his words: 'If you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?'

Today his gloves lie on my desk in my office. They help me to see the
world and its people in a new way, and they help me remember those two hours with my unique friend and to pray for his ministry. 'See you in
the New Jerusalem,' he said. Yes, Daniel, I know I will...

If this story touched you, forward it to a friend!

'I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do or
any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass
this way again.

My instructions were to send this to four people that I wanted God to
bless and I picked you. Please pass this to four people you want to be
blessed.

This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached. Please do not
break this pattern. Prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is
no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another.
God bless and have a nice day!

'Father, I ask you to bless my friends, relatives and e-mail buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace, In Jesus' precious Name Amen.'

I sent this to more than four, but this story is so touching, I felt
each of you would enjoy it greatly.

GOD BLESS YOU, MY FRIENDS, AND FAMILY!!!

My Mommy is so SAD

Today, mommy read a post about a pitbull mix puppy that was taken from her home because of her breed. She understands that there are laws and they must be abided by but can't understand what all the fuss is about. We know that a lot of states are banning that breed and we think that it's crazy. Mommy says that if they can ban one breed, they can certainly ban other's. There is a group started now to try and save this pup. Her name is Daisy and she's the cutest thing. She looks to be very friendly and playful. Mommy cried when she read what her mommy wrote in her diary. Apparently there wasn't money to have this pup fixed in order for her mommy to abide by that countries laws. A lot of dogster pups have said they would cover that cost for her. A lot of them say they are willing to adopt her just to keep her alive. I know her mommy and family don't want to see her put to sleep, and I know they would love to be able to keep her. Her mommy has to go to court on Thursday to answer to the charges against her. We are praying that when she tells them that there are people willing to donate the money to have this little girl fixed that the courts will say she can do that and keep her. This is not only a family pet, but a therapy pup as well to her mommy. Mommy says that in her opinion, and she knows everybody has them things and are entitled to their own, but she thinks that people are going way overboard with power to make laws. These are cold hearted people and mommy has no tollerance for them kind of folks. She knows that some train that breed to be fighters and killers of other pups, and she believes that is wrong. But to get a puppy, right from the start and to train it to be a happy go lucky pup and to grow up and be a great pet with no hatered in their hearts towards anything or anyone is just wrong to want to put them down. To my mommy, putting this precious little girl to sleep because of her breed would be like someone saying we had to put Lil Sassy to sleep cause she was born blind. Or to say that we had to put Snuggles to sleep cause he's bitten mommy several times. It's just not right. What if I would have had to be put to sleep cause I was not taken care of and allowed to get so matted up that I couldn't see, stand or sit comfortably? Would that be right? NO!!!!!! Ohhhhh geeish.........mommy is crying now. She can't see to type anymore so we're gonna close now. We just want everyone to pray for this pup and that a solution can be reached in order to keep this pup alive and with her family.

When you are tagged, you have to write down 7 awsome things about yourself in your diary, and then tag 7 other pups. You need to send them a note or rosette to let them know that they were tagged and telling them to read your diary entry so that they will see the rules of the game.

1. I was an ugly ducklin until my mommy found me.
2. I don't like baths, but I will tolerate them cause I know I'll be beautiful afterwards.
3. Lil Sassy is my daughter from my first litter.
4. I will be 3 years old in November.
5. I am Goofball's wife, and I'm so proud to be his.
6. I love my mommy and daddy so much.
7. I love my dear friends Miss Jenna, Miss Dixie, Trixie Mae and all the rest.

Guess What?????!!!!

Well diary, guess what? Yesterday, my Goofy, my true love, my one and only sent me his heart. Yes, his heart. It's purple and it goes on my collar to wear so that I'll always know that my Goofy loves me. Of course his mommy had to help him with it all, and I know she loves us too, and we, of course adore her.
You know diary, we've met a lot of pups and people on dogster, and while we consider all of them to be our friends, and our buddies, there are a few that just stand out and grab our hearts and don't let go. Like Miss Jenna Pooh and her mommy Donna. They are truly a God send. Miss Jenna is Lil Sassy's hero, and she deserves to be. Ms. Donna is mommies sister in Christ and they have become close. Also Miss Trixie Mae, and Goofy and Buddy and their mommies, Ms. Audrey and Ms. Ginny. We all are family and I love the fact that my family has grown so big. We love all of them and we think they are the best thing that has happened to us in a very long time. I know what love is by the way my mommy loves me, but to have other's outside my home come to know me and love me, it just makes it all the better. For so long I didn't know what being loved was all about, but I do know now and I don't know how I survived it back then. I could never do without my family, each and every one of them, even for one day.
I love you all,
Sadie Pearl

Our prayers were answered

With everyone praying for me and my babies, I just wanted to write it down that God does answer prayers. My babies eyes started trying to open on Friday, but mommy wouldn't say anything cause she wanted to wait and see what was going to happen. Daddy called mommy at work yesterday and told her that ALL eyes were open. Mommy was so happy she cried, and daddy hugged us all and even the babies got kisses from daddy.
We are all happy and wanted to thank everyone for praying for our little family. All my friends here at dogster mean the world to me.
Thanks and love to all,
Sadie Pearl and family

Goofball has asked me to marry him. It's all so sudden but I love him and he loves me. There is no doubt about that. Now I've asked Jenna Pooh to help me find a dress, and gosh, I've got to have a maid of honor, and brides maids, and someone to carry our rings, and a flower girl........oh no! That's a lot to do in a shot while. Maybe Jenna and Trixie will help me. Ohhhhhhh we're gonna be such beautiful brides.
Well, I have to go now and get invitations and my dress and Ohhhhhh, I LOVE my ring, it's so beautiful.
Gosh, I've got so much to do.....
Talk to you later, diary.

WooooooHooooo, I got a brand new boyfriend.....

Hello diary, guess what? Miss Jenna Pooh is getting married to Buddy and Buddy's big brother wants me, yes ME to be his Valentine. Can you believe it? Boy, I never even knew he liked me or knew me for that matter. He thinks I'm beautiful and he's big and strong and could wrap me up in his big paws and arms and cuddle with me. I love to cuddle you know. Now I don't feel like the ugly duckling anymore. I know every body always told me that I was pretty and beautiful after mommy groomed me and now that she keeps me that way. But it feels different when a man tells you and especially when you know he likes you alot, and that "like" turns into "love". And fast too sometimes.....but we can't stop our feelings.
Also, Snuggles ask Trixie Mae to marry him and I think they are getting married on Valentines Day too. Trixie is so sweet. Her mommy and my mommy and Miss Jenna's mommy are what my mommy calls "Soul Sisters". I've ask mommy what that means and she says that it means that they are connected by what they feel for certain things like us animals, and what they believe in like doing right, and it's like they should have been born to the same family cause they have gotten as close as sisters can get.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you the run down on all that's happening.
Talk to you later diary,
Sadie Pearl

I'm a Mommy again

Yes Diary, I finally had my babies. I had 4 this time and all are girls again. I just can't seem to have a boy, but that's okay. They are all healthy so far but mommy says I still need to keep my paws crossed that they will all be able to see this time. We are praying and hoping and crossing everything we've got that these babies will have no birth defects whatsoever this time.
I had a solid white one, a solid black one, a black and white one and a brown and white one. Them are some cute babies if I do say so myself. I had them all Sunday morning, Jan. 21, 2007. I did really good, I didn't even let mommy and daddy know I was having them. They woke up and couldn't fiind me and looked in my birthing box, and I had babies.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news with my diary.

My babies

Mommy can feel my babies moving around in my belly! It won't be long now before they will arrive. We're all praying so hard that they will be alright. Mommy has lots of people wanting one of my babies when they are ready to go to new homes. Mommy is screening, whatever that means, everybody who wants one. There's one girl mommy works with that has never had an inside puppy before, and she's just finished building a new home, and her and her husband want a pup for the inside. They even built an extra room just for a puppy. Of course mommy asked her if the puppy would be strictly confined to that room, and she said no, the room is mainly for when they are gone. It's as big as a bedroom, with tile floor and she's already got all kinds of toys for that special puppy to play with, and a bed and everything. She wants a girl, but her husband want's a boy.....bol. I don't know if I'll have a boy this time or not cause last time I had all girls. Maybe they'll decide to take one of each....bol. Mommy says their outside doggies even have condo's for dog houses.......bol. Mommy seen their new house, the out side anyway, and their outside dog houses is something to see. They are so big and roomy and have indoor/outdoor carpet and everything. These people seem to go way out there for their pets.
Anyway, I'll write again when my babies are born.
Sadie Pearl.

A new poem

Hi diary,
Mommy just came across this poem on another pups page and loved it so she aske permission to post it here in my diary and we got the ok from Millie.
Thanks Millie for allowing us to post this.
We Love This Poem........hope you will too.

A Rescuer's Poem

I am an Animal Rescuer
My job is to assist God's creatures
I was born with the drive to fulfill their needs
I take in helpless, unwanted, homeless creatures without planning or
selection
I have bought dog food with my last dime
I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid
I have fallen in love a thousand times
And I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body too many times to
count
I have animal friends and friends who have animal friends
I don't often use the word "pet"
I notice those lost at the road side
And my heart aches
I will hand raise a field mouse
And make friends with a vulture
I know of no creature unworthy of my time
I want to live forever if there aren't any animals in Heaven
But I believe there are
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind
Some may think we are master of the animals
But the animals have mastered themselves
Something people still haven't learned
War and abuse make me hurt for the world
But a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind
We are a quiet but determined army
And we are making a difference every day
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan
Nothing more rewarding than saving a life
No higher recognition than watching them thrive
There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play
who only days ago, was too weak to eat
By the love of those who I've been privileged to rescue
I have been rescued
I know what true unconditional love really is
for I've seen it shining in the eyes of so many
Grateful for so little
I am an Animal Rescuer
My work is never done
My home is never quiet
My wallet is always empty
But my heart is always full
