Arrival Story:
Pooka was adopted from a local breeder. She was the only little female in the crate hiding in the back and we fell in love instantly.

Bio:
Pooka is a sweet baby girl who has many medical issues. She has dry eye and needs eye ointment twice daily to keep her big beautiful browns healthy. She was also born with a deformity in both of her front legs. A surgery was done in an attempt to correct the deformity. However, she did not recover completely. She still is slow getting around but does not sprain her legs anymore and even with her handicap she is the sweetest and happiest lhasa baby. She is in no pain at all and has mastered catching birds that frequent her back yard water fountain. She is handicapped but we find ourselves rescuing the birds. She is also the alpha lhasa and loves her brother Max. The two fur twins are inseperable. When we make a trip anywhere it has to be a family matter, neither will allow us to leave one or the other behind. And believe or not this sweet little dog will out-burp the best of them!!!! One of her award winning burps woke us up one night from a dead sleep. Cute!!!!! Recently Pooka was diagnosed as a Diabetic and has developed cataracts. She is doing well...with the help of a wonderful veterinarian her sugar level has been kept constant. She is doing great! Sadly...on 09-19-11 Pooka reached the end of her journey with her diabeties and other medical issues. She is a sweet baby girl that will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace my Sweet Baby Girl.
