Quick Bio:

Cheyenne likes to look pretty. If she could, she would spend all of her free time at the mall having her nails done! She also loves to be brushed. She has a very itchy back. She has faithfully guarded the kitchen since we were invaded by shrews!

Not getting enough attention. If she feels we are not paying enough attention to her she will sidle up to us and start whining until we pat her or scratch her back. She is very demanding in this way!

Favorite Toy:
Stuffies. She likes to carry them around, but she doesn't chew them up or rip them open.

Favorite Food:
Grissini (Bread Sticks)! Or, anything else we're eating. Even oatmeal cookies!

Favorite Walk:
Cheyenne likes to walk around the neighborhood. She's very nosy.

Best Tricks:
She 'swims' across the carpet when she is happy or excited. It is sooooo cute!

Arrival Story:
Cheyenne was found by our daughter's landlady wandering the streets of the city near her house. It took her almost 2 days to coax Cheyenne to let her even get close to her. She put food and water out for Cheyenne, so she stayed around. Since the landlady already had 3 BIG dogs, she could not keep Cheyenne and asked our daughter if she knew anyone who would like to adopt her. We had been considering finding a companion for Brownie for several months, so we decided to check out the pretty red dog rescued from the streets. When we went to meet Cheyenne she would not come near us. She had only recently come to trust the landlady. She was wary and frightened of us. We stayed for quite a while until Cheyenne decided that since the landlady liked us we must be okay. So, we brought her home with us to meet Brownie. She thought he was okay, but it took her a while to trust us. She still to this day has issues with trust. We make sure to give her lots of hugs and reassuring pats.

Cheyenne is still very wary of strangers but warms up once she gets to know someone. This doesn't happen quickly, but more over time. However, Cheyenne still has trust issues. For instance, if we try to give her a pill when she is sick, she will try to bite us. ================================== ================================== ===== Cheyenne does not like cats! We can't figure out why. We think she has some kind of idea that they are 'out to get her'. If there is a cat in her midst, she might attack it 'out of the blue' for no apparent reason. We found this out the hard way. ================================== ================================== ======== She sheds so much we are surprised she isn't bald! We find piles of red fur every day all around the house. And her coat is still thick and lush! She loves to be brushed, especially on her back. Her back always seems to itch. She even 'scratches' it on the underside of the chairs by moving back and forth. ================================== ================================== === Cheyenne is a 'mouser'! She 'lays in wait' in the kitchen doorway watching for the occasional mouse that creeps in from the basement. She has also caught 2 shrews that somehow made it in as well! She is better at this than any cat we have ever had! ================================== ================================== ======== She is very demanding. She often comes up to us and whines or grunts until we either scratch her or give her a treat. (This occasionally gets annoying!) ================================== ================================== ======== We harbor the belief that Cheyenne is a closet 'Valley Girl'. If she were human, we think she would spend her days at the mall buying 'strappy shoes', having her hair done, getting manicures and pedicures, and buying all the latest fashions. Oh, and she would be 'totally Vegan'! (We believe this because she spends her time 'modeling' and 'posing' for no apparent reason.) ================================== ================================== ======= We are very happy that we made Cheyenne a part of our family. She is a real sweetheart and deserves a loving home.
