Arrival Story:
My mom knew in about September that my 16 year old ShihTzu, Sebastian, was not going to be around for much longer. Because she didn't want me to be as upset, she decided she wanted to get me another puppy before he passed away. People have occasionally said I look like Reese Witherspoon, and after watching Legally Blonde my mom decided that a chihuahua would fit my personality. So we called several different numbers in order to get a puppy before Christmas, and found her about 30 minutes away. When we went to the man's house, we quickly realized it was just another puppy mill ... there were dogs howling everywhere and it smelled badly like urine. The man showed us Kiki and her sister, and as soon as I held Kiki she dug her claws into my shoulder (if anyone has a Chihuahua puppy, you know how their claws are ... like a little kitten's!) and I knew that she wanted me to take her away from there ... luckily someone else came in right as we were leaving and bought her sister. :) She was terrified, but after we got her home I cleaned her up and gave her her first toy ... a beanie baby chicken, which was bigger than her :). Now she is the complete antithesis of terrified ... my friends all think she's nuts!
