Sad news

My darling Cindy is now retired. She was having problems with bad arthritis and hip dysplasia. The vet and I agreed after her last x-ray that it would be best for her if we retired her, since I did not want her working when she was in pain. She is back with Guide Dogs in Brisbane. It was a very hard choice for me to make, but I want what's best for her and I felt she would be happier there where she can play with other dogs and maybe go to the beach. My instructor picked Cindy up, which was great because Cindy already knew her and wasn't fretting much. The last I heard she was doing well. I miss her very much. She was an excellent guide dog with a sweet and patient personality. I hope she's having fun and not missing us too much.

Holidays and Cats

Mum took me on a long holiday! I tried to be good, but I really hated being in the car all day. And I didn't even have my proper bed at night! Mum said it's too big to fit in the car or caravan. And I hate the caravan. So cramped! But there were these two cats at one place we stayed at. I got to sniff one, but she wouldn't play with me. Cats are such snobs. She liked Mummy, though. I was jealous.
I'm so happy to be home. My own bed, my own yard, all of my toys, walks to the radio station. Mummy took me to the radio station yesterday and I was so good! I didn't annoy anyone or jump up on them even though I haven't seen them for so long. And I went to the vet and got to talk to the cat. That cat is a bit of a snob as well, but at least she talks to me.

I had to go to the vet today

Mummy took me to the vet today. Our friend T came around and I was really excited because T always gives me lots of attention. He let me get in his car and we drove to the vet. The vet was really nice at first, but then he put something in my ear that hurt. Nasty vet. I made him give me a treat after that. I deserved it! There was another puppy dog there with a hurt leg. I wanted to play with him, but Mummy said I couldn't. We went home and T made me eat some nasty medicine. I'm not talking to him now. I'm not talking to Mum either, because she helped him. Everyone's being nasty to me today!

My holiday!

I've been on holiday for the last couple of weeks! We went to visit Mum's grandparents. They live near the beach, so I got to go there! Mum didn't let me too far into the water, though. She said that her Dad wouldn't let her in the car if she got wet too!
When we went into town to visit some friends, Mum got me a new food bowl. I don't think I like it much, though. It doesn't make as much noise as my old one! And we got to walk around some shopping centres, but Mum said I had to heel beside her instead of working, because I didn't know the way around and we wouldn't be here long enough to teach me. I want to go home so I can work again! It's so boring not being allowed to guide!
At the pet shop, there were some cute Labrador puppies! They were all yellow Labs. They were six hundred and something dollars! I wonder what happens to puppies in pet stores if no one buys them?
Mum said we're going home tomorrow! I can't wait!

Playing!

Mum let me play with another dog today! She was a really little dog and she was always trying to get me to chase her, but I was more interested in sniffing around. There were so many interesting smells! We ran around a lot, and now I'm really tired!

Vet Trip

Mummy took me to the vet today! I had to have a bath, which wasn't good! The water was cold! There was another dog there, though. She was called Minx. I said hello to her, but she wouldn't play with me. She played with Mummy, though. Mummy threw a ball for her to catch and talked to her. She says she's a nice dog, but I don't think so because she wouldn't play with me!

Vet Visit and Shopping

We went to the vet today! There were two little dogs there and one huge dog! I wasn't too interested in the little dogs, but I wanted to play with the big dog! And I wanted to play with the kitten too, but she's too little.
We also went shopping. It was kind of boring because there weren't many people around. I think Mum liked that, though! And I got lots of treats! I wouldn't get up when I was supposed to, though, and I don't think Mum was happy about that. A working dog needs her rest, you know!

Crowded park

Today when we walked to the shops the park we walk through was really crowded. There were kids everywhere! Mum told me to find a way through and I did, but it was really hard. People kept moving in front of us so I had to keep trying to find a way around.
Mum had to go to the chemist to get some medicine. Once she did that we were going home, but I wanted to go to the library so we went there before we went home. I think I deserved to go somewhere I like after getting through that crowd!

I'm tired!

Mum took me for a long walk today! She was talking to a nice lady for a while and the lady got some water for me before we left! Then we went to the library so Mum could return a book. Then we sat down for a while so I could have a rest and walked home. There were some dogs that were barking at me and I wanted to go see them, but Mum said I couldn't.
I'm so tired now!
