Favorite Food:
Peanut Butter-stuffed Kong. And greenies. And anything the humans are eating.

Favorite Walk:
In the park across the street from our house.

Best Tricks:
Eating faster than the speed of sound.

Arrival Story:
My Mom picked me out of an unusually big Pug litter (2 brothers, five sisters). She picked up one of my brothers first, but didn't take to him. Then she picked me up and I went crazy licking her all over her face. It's been love ever since!

Unfortunately, I have a disease called Hip Dysplasia, which isn't super common amongst Pugs. Eventually I'm going to have to get surgery which is a bummer, but at least I'll be healthier. Plus, my doctor made me lose weight because it's better on my hips. But I'm doing fine, enjoying my people and backyard and other folks who stop by.

Long time no write!

Wow - I can't believe it's been two years since I wrote last. Then again, I'm a dog. I don't naturally gravitate toward writing.

Anywho, since my last entry, we have happily settled in to our house. We have a huge yard, and there are a bunch of dogs in the neighborhood - yes! Although I really do miss my pal Tanner, who lived next to me at our old house.

Our current next door neighbor, Dee, is a really nice older lady who gives me treats everyday. She was giving me six treats a day until Mom called a halt to it. Dang it!! Mom said I was getting pudgy again. Now Dee just gives me two a day. Oh well - better than nothing.

A few months ago Mom and Dad tried to adopt another dog into the family, much to my disliking. His name was Sawyer - he was a big dog, a mutt, and was a big lug. Dad really liked him - Mom was on the fence about him. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy about this new arrangement. Thankfully, Sawyer sank his boat when he "exploded" downstairs, causing Mom and Dad to rethink the idea of a big dog. They decided to give him back to his foster family, who wound up keeping him. THAT was a close one.

Time marches on and find myself getting older. I'm 5 now! That's crazy! I'm almost a middle-aged dog. I still act like a puppy from time to time, though. However, I really do enjoy snoozing on Mom and Dad's bed.

Ciao for now!

Mom keeps talking about this moving thing...

So lately Mom and Dad have been talking a lot about this "new house." I'm starting to get suspicious. Are we moving AGAIN? Just when I've marked everything in the backyard, they up and move me. Great. Well, this new place better provide me with ample running, barking and pooping space. Of course that won't stop me from leaving a nice steamer downstairs in the new basement every now and then. It's my calling card, if you will.

Anywho, I'm not sure what to think of this new house, but time will tell. Mom mentioned that there are two German Shepards that live in the house behind us. Swell. Nothing like living next to cops. Who knows, maybe they'll be cool.

Have a great rest of the summer everyone.

Mom's gypped me again on treats - at least Spring's almost here

We go through this every morning. I go outside, do my - uh - business, and I get a nice treat for my efforts. Usually a greenie or these weird dehydrated chicken strips. But NO - not this morning!!! Mom just looked down at me and said, "You don't need a treat every day, Baxter." If I had a middle finger, I think you know what I would have done with it after that statement.

My only solace is the knowledge that Spring is almost here, and soon I'll be frolicking outside in the evenings when Mom and Dad come home, and all day on the weekend. There's nothing I enjoy more than lying in the sun. But what dog doesn't, really?

Soon Mom will be out in the garden, and I again will pestering her to no end.

Ah, the joys of Spring.
