Arrival Story:
In 1992, My mom got Kelsey from a breeder when she was about 10 weeks old, and they instantly bonded. Kelsey went everywhere my mom went, and she was very well trained, she wouldn't run away, but she had to have a leash because she would bark at other dogs and try to chase them. Then my parents made the mistake of taking Kelsey to a fireworks show. She really freaked out and from then on she would go crazy every time she would hear a loud boom, bang, or any fireworks. We had to put her away in a bedroom every 4th of July. But one year, about a week before the 4th of July, Our whole family was outside and Kelsey too, then we set off a loud model rocket, and Kelsey ran away. We couldn't find her and put up flyers and told all of our nighboors that she was missing. After about 3 or 4 days, and Kelsey still didn't show up, my mom was heartbroken. Then a person called and said that they had a stray dog that had showed up at their house, about 7 or 8 miles away! We doubted it was her but we drove over there anyway, and sure enough, it was Kelsey! We were amazed that that she ran 7 miles, almost into the next town! After that we were extra carefull about being around Kelsey and firyworks. She loved to sleep with her pal, Spike, and would treat him like her son. When he was sick in the last couple years of his life, she would lick him and clean him everyday because he couldn't. Kelsey was very smart. We used to play hide and seek, my mom would hide in a closet or somewhere, and yell 'Come and find me!' Then Kelsey would find her! She could spell also. She knew B-A-T-H and V-E-T and whenever we would spell them out, and she would run and hide, because she hated baths and going to the vet. Kelsey was the sweetest dog you could ever find, and we all were very sad when she passed on. She was big and fluffy, and always seemed to be there when you needed a hug. We miss you Kelsey!!

She lived from April 27, 1992 to March 1, 2004. She passed away due to cancer in her lymphnodes, and we were very sad to see her go. She died the day after Martha's kittens were born. We love you Kelsey!
