Likes:
She loved swimming in the lake more than anything! If we tried to walk past her spot, she would park her butt on the ground and wouldn't move an inch till we gave in.

Pet-Peeves:
She hated baths, which was terrible because she smelled so bad all the time! She wasn't too happy about the new puppy either!

Favorite Toy:
She would chew anything. She was very meticulous about it. If it was a stuffed animal, first she'd remove the nose, then the eyes and then tear out the stuffing.

Favorite Food:
Anything! She especially loved her older brother Triton's food, which she wasn't supposed to have because she was too fat and he was too skinny!

Favorite Walk:
She always wanted the same exact walk by the lake. Detours and new routes were NOT allowed.

Best Tricks:
She couldn't do anything but she was a sweetheart!

Arrival Story:
One snowy day in early February 1994 we looked out our window and saw a neighbor carrying a tiny bundle of fur in his arms. His family already had three golden retrievers so my mom asked him if this was yet another. He said no, he was trying to sell this one. He brought her in and she spent the night with us to "test it out." My mom, my sister and I fell in love. My dad objected, as he refuses to have a dog that isnt a male Irish Setter. But we decided to keep her anyway. People all over the neighborhood adopted the rest of the 2 litters that had been rescued from a front porch in West Virginia and three of the sisters used to play together all the time!

Bio:
Liza died in October 2005. She had a tumor in her brain stem. She was such a trooper. She had already survived one tumor in the back of her eye that caused her eye to be removed. Then one day the vet noticed a distinctive head tilt, and soon she started walking like she'd had too many beers. We tried everything to help her, got her an MRI to be sure of what it was. We started the chemo and steroids but it just wasn't helping. We thank the greatest vet in the world, Dr. Bill Bush in Hyattstown, MD who allowed us to bring her to his home after 9pm so he could investigate her movements and her MRI results. She will be missed forever.
