We Missed Dogster! But We're Back :o)

Hello Dogster Pals,

My mommy missed Dogster so after almost five months, we have returned to play.

During these five months, I have visited numerous kennel clubs in what mommy calls the "tri-state area" and we've been having fun training for Earth Dog with the other serious dogs into the game. We've been competing just for fun and it's awesome!!! :)

I'm still having my "Addison episodes." It's getting a little worse then before, but I'm on my meds :P Earth Dog is helping a lot.

Well, see you all later! Send me a P-Mail if you want to chat a little more!

Love,

Charlie, Brandy, & Mommy

I had so much fun on Christmas! Even though my Mommy dressed me up as Santy Paws, I had lots of fun. Santy Paws gave me a new bowl, a pillow with my name on it, a fun Christmas penguin that makes lots of noise, and TREATS!! The treats are SOOO good. Mommy gave me a munchy bone and I ate it up so fast, I wanted another one!

I had an awesome Christmas! I wish Christmas came everyday day! BOL!!

Hey Dogsters,

I hope everyone is having a Happy Thanksgiving weekend. My Mommy sends her love from New York, too!

On Thursday, Mommy, Genny, and I curled up on the couch to watch the Parade on TV. It was raining, but I still got to see Santa on his sleigh. Boy, I can't wait until Christmas.

Dinner was awesome! Mommy gave me turkey and mashed potatoes. She said to Grammy, "Let's give him. He's human too." That made me feel great.
Uncle Mike came to dinner and he was playing with me.
After dinner, the family had pumpkin pie. Mommy gave me some of her pie crust, which tasted DELICIOUS! Mommy gave me a spoonful of whipped cream too - I'm a sneaky little boy.
After dinner, the family talked, and I layed on Mommy's lap, played with Fofo and my toy ball, and drifted into a sleep. That was the best Thanksgiving yet!

Friday, Mommy decorated my Dogster page. Do you like it?

My birthday is coming up on the 28th ... I cannot wait!! I'm going to be 6 years old. YES! I wonder what Mommy has planned for me.... :)

I send ALL my love on this holiday weekend.

Morning Commute: A Normal Sunday Morning

Hi Dogsters! Just thought I'd share a normal Sunday morning in the household...

I wake at 7am to use the bathroom. I walk back to the room and sleep until around 10am. Then the whole house is awake. Grammy is always up first, reading, watching t.v., or making breakfast for herself. Mommy then gets up, takes a shower, and I sleep with Genny until she gets out of the shower. Then Genny is up and is bothering me, as usual. Matthew is up last, getting the stuff the humans need to make breakfast.

Cooking Sunday breakfast in the kitchen is my favorite time of the morning. I sit on the rug near my food area and beg. I usually get a slip of ham or turkey here and there but they give me my dry food, which I refuse to eat!

Mommy is done cooking by then and she sits at the table. I beg. Genny walks past us with either milk or tea (she drowns her tea in milk, she explained this too me once.) She sits next to Mommy at the table and Grammy eats in the kitchen. Matthew is eating in the kitchen too.

After breakfast time is over, it's t.v. time. Everyone is in the living room or thier own quaters watching Sunday television. I lay and watch too.

All of this is done by 11:50am. It's already afternoon by then!

Regards,

Charlie (AKA Sexy Beast)

Happy Halloween, Dogsters! Today is a special day for me because I have been a DogsterPlus member for 1 day now. Mommy said DogsterPlus would be fun to join. Thanks Mommy :o)

Now, for the scary Halloween stuff ... *mu-ha-ha-ha*

This Halloween I am a bumblebee. I think I don't look too sexy in my costume ... but I look really cute! I fought Mommy getting into the costume but the kids outside LOVED it. I think I don't look that bad then.

No candy for me, but I do get my dog snacks. Oh, what a joy.

I hope EVERY Dogster has a great Halloween and I'll talk to everyone soon.

Halloween Costumes, Tangos, and a whole lot more!

Today, I got a bath! I love baths, don't get me wrong, but it's such a pain in the neck being wet and all. The bubbles and the cool water is great, but I have to shake it all off. I'd rather not take a bath at all!

Mommy had my try on my Halloween costume for a picture for all your doggie Dogsters. I'm a BUMBLEBEE! Isn't that great? I get to buzz around the house with my wings. I think I look rather handsome in that costume.

Genny is teaching me to Tango. Hey, a Tango takes two... I think I can dance pretty well. I know a SexyBack routine. BOL! That's how I got my nickname "Sexy Beast."

Love,

Charlie AKA Sexy Beast
P.S. Happy (early) Halloween!

Charlie: Agility Dog?

Mommy and Genny are doing simple training with me. Agility training! I didn't know it could be so tiring. They have something of a course set up for me in the afternoon, and I chase a treat. Yipee! But, Mommy is teaching me to do the course without the treat - boring! The hurdle is my favorite part of the training, but Genny says this is "all for fun" and "excercise." Whatever; as long as I get my treat, I don't care what it's for BOL! Genny says she wants to teach me how to run through "weave poles", but I need more training. I guess this could be fun..

Video of my training coming soon!!

Luv,

Charlie and Co., xoxoxo

My Tail of Devotion for Charlie

Everyday is the same thing: work and home. But, Charlie, with you in each of my days, that makes my life very special. I may feel sad and upset, and somehow you know I’m sad. So, you give me kisses, and wag your little tail. Sometimes, you may do silly things that get me very upset, but your innocence covers up the wrong doings, and I forgive you. It takes a great deal to own a dog, care for a dog, but loving a dog, and a dog showing you love back, is eternal and priceless. You have showed me that the silly things us humans do, can be turned around and made into a very special and helpful situation.
Charlie, you have taught me to never give up. Even with your health issue you are thriving and you always seem to feel alive. You have shown Mommy a great deal over a long five years when Daddy passed. You showed me everything was going to be okay and you kept by my side, at all times. Through thick and thin, I saw the true human inside of you that reminded me of Daddy. No matter what, you’ll be my little baby, my little Lolo, my little Chulo, my Angelic Figure. Charlie, you are my true Guardian Angel. You keep me going, and I thank you sincerely for that. Remember: the day you cross over to Rainbow Bridge, tell Daddy I miss him.
You’re my son, my best friend, and the inner happiness and love in all of us.

This is a special Tail of Devotion

Dear Reader,

On Sunday, Charlie suffered a slight stroke. He was knocked out for a while, but he finally woke up. I took Charlie to the closest animal hospital, where he stood for a short period of time. They ran some tests, and he was put on medical steriods. When I returned home, he was tired, wouldn't stand, and wouldn't eat. I gave him water, and he fell asleep. In the evening, he was awake, calm, but was not acting like himself. So, I decided to give him a bath, and that did the trick! He was running around and being happy. Yet, after a while he was tired, and fell asleep.

I had noticed that he was walking at a very slow pace which wasn't normal for him. He is normally half way down the block when we take him for walks. It was odd, that he began to pant at the very first few steps of walking. With the mixture of heat and walking on the hot pavement, it seemed to cause him much stress. He was foaming at one point, where then, I gave him enough water to stop the foam.

[Monday:] The next day, he was acting normally; like he always does. I had my daughter keep a close eye on him, and he was doing O.K.

I decided to take Charlie out for a quick walk. After 2 or 3 blocks, he began to pant and his tounge was sticking out. His pace was very slow. I let him be, and he was alright. Mind you, it was windy and very chilly out. Charlie came home, and rested on the couch, like normal.

I had quite a scare with him. For a split second, I thought he would die in my arms. Keep Charlie in your prayers. He's a sick dog, and I know it.

Mommy and Genny took my out today. It was pretty windy, but we were alright. Genny took the camera down with her, to take pictures of me. She was stopping every few moments to get a good shot of me. Mommy thinks I'm "photogenic"; whatever that is. Gen got some great shots of me--and some not so great ones.

My favorite was the side profile. I look a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

My least favorite shoot, was when Genny was holding me like a showdog. She loves to show with me, even though it's just pretend.
