   Leave a bone for Carly

Woobbie, Carlsbad, Carlsgood, Mrs. Nebbish, The Woob, Mama Dog

Quick Bio:

sleeping in our bed, her "boyfriend" B-U-S-T-E-R (shhh, if we say his name too loud, she goes nuts), the cookies she gets from Buster's mom, chewing her toys, peanut butter, her light up ball, sticks, rocks, going after the laundry as I fold it.

when Mommy talks on the phone--watch out!, the fan, the lawnmower, the clothes dryer, Elizabethan collar, empty trash bags (???) , any time she is not drawing our full attention

Favorite Toy:
Nylabones, her stuffed baby, my old sneaker in the yard

Favorite Food:
peanut butter, greenies, cheese, dry cheerios

Favorite Walk:
anywhere with her friend Coco, she loves walking to her friend Buster's house, she also enjoys going "bye bye car"

Best Tricks:
Sit, Stay, Paw, Down. She'll do all 4 without any prompting if she even remotely smells some cheese nearby.

Arrival Story:
We stopped in a pet shop after dinner and found her in the corner of a pen being nipped at and jumped on by 3 spunky Rottweiler pups. She is very timid and mellow, we had to save her! She is the best thing to happen to us in a long time. She is our little girl!

Carly is originally from Missouri. She came to us at about 5 months old. Her birthday is the fourth of July! Carly actually likes going to the vet!!

For starters I am glad I do NOT have to share my birthday. Mommy and Daddy had my little brother, Aidan, on July 5th 2005. He is cute, but he takes way too much of their attention off of me, and I am not liking it. In fact, I tend to chew on the living room area rug, just so they'll notice me. Mommy had an annoying tendency to wipe down Aidan, right after I give him a tongue bath! Duh! I am trying to welcome him to the pack! Aidan's swing is not too safe in my humble opinion. So I use my large golden head to stop it when I think it's going too fast. Other than that, I've been getting more treats lately, which is good, but it's been too hot to go out much, which is not so good.

I'd better go stare out the window or something.

Happy New Year

Well, alot has happened this season. Daddy put some flashy light up stuff on our lawn, and I tell you, I was a little scared, esp. of the 8ft. snowman. Thank goodness it is all gone now.

Been playing in the snow all day. I like this Blizzard of '05! Just when mommy has de-iced my paws, I am ready to go out again! Mommy is not too thrilled with the paw prints all over the floor, though. I played and romped until the walk Daddy shoveled was covered with snow again. He needs the exercise. Such a helpful golden....

Anyway, there has been a lot of strange talk around here. Something about a "new addition" and "how will Carly handle not being the center of attention anymore." Yeah, right like THAT would ever happen. They say stuff about "keeping Carly out of the bassinette." Can't wait to investigate that. Mommy says I may have to share my birthday with this new family member. Hell no! The fourth of July is for me only! I get a whole fireworks display and grilled meat all day long. I am not down with sharing that! Hey, maybe they are talking about getting a second golden. Oh boy!

Wow, Autumn is Cool

Dear Diary,

I like this new season! Mommy and Daddy planted some flowers, and biting the heads off them is very conducive to my favorite game of being chased. Pumpkins are a bit disconcerting--still trying to find a way to carry one in my mouth. And, you've gotta love the candy corn--Mommy became very disgruntled this morning when she caught me up on the kitchen counter with my head buried in a bowl of the whimsical stuff. She said, "Thank God it's not the chocolate." Must find out what that is. Last autumn I was cooped up in a cage in pet shop. I like this season, although Mommy and Daddy keep discussing my "costume". I don't like the sound of this....
