Arrival Story:
I received a call one evening late from the local Vets. This little tech was trying desperatly to find this dog a home. Her owner and passed away a couple of months earlier.. They had tried so hard to find her a home. But no one wanted and OLD dog... She was 12 at the time maybe even 13 they said. The vet tech told me at 10 pm, that the following morning they were going to put her down, at 9 AM.... So I called a couple of people and no one wanted her because she was OLD.... So after a few calls, I sat down on the side of the bed not knowing what I could do. My husband and I had two dogs and two cats already, and I knew he didn't want anymore, we keep the vet busy as it was. But he said do you want her, I said yes... He told me ok. I said I will find her a home.... He said ok, and I called her back. The next morning at 8 am she was on my door step. What a beautiful little dog. I had no idea what kind she was or color or anything. She was a mixed breed, but you could see the Chow Chow in her coat. Her little face looked much more like a little colie of some type. None the less she was put inside the door, and other than watching the driver pull off, she then turned walked in like she had always lived here. She then saw the two large boxers.... almost 3 times her size. It didn't even matter to her, she just walked right between them, while they looked at her wondering what she was.... Then the cats came out to look. I didn't even ask if she liked cats... They just walked passed her was well. Needless to say she was hot, we live in Texas and it was August. I took her to a groomer and had her shaved down. She was beautiful fluffy, and very elegant looking. But she was HOT HOT HOT... I dropped her off at the groomers and when I went back a few hours later to pick her up I did not even know it was my dog. She came out looking like a young puppy.... Well to make a long story shorter, she did find a home, and a very Good happy loving home. With me, my husband her boxer sister Coffee Bean, her Pound Boxer T-Bone Tanner and her other visisting sister almost daily AJ that belongs to my son. The little Chow Chow now thinks she is a boxer. Oh well I won't tell her differently. She does fit in somehow. She has been with us now 8 months longer than she would have been on earth. We are happy to have her.
