Arrival Story:
I found Taz online on petfinder.com. It wasn't love at first site, but I'd wanted a dog for ages and he seemed to fit the bill. We weren't allowed to have one when we were growing up, so he would be my first. He was a dirty and tangled mess when I picked him up from the Humane Society. I have to think he was somewhat abused by prior owners since he ran away when I picked up a broom, and really, really, didn't like men with facial hair. The miracle of this story is that my mother never liked dogs - but somehow, Taz stole her heart. She walked up to him one day, patted him on the head and said "well, he IS cute"! Two months later my mother passed away. To this day, I believe that someone with a higher power knew I would need him. And my mother's blessing was the best thing I could have ever wished for. Within a year, the vet told me that Taz and I had formed a bond that he hadn't seen with some people after years of having their dog.
