Arrival Story:
Our kids, who were 10 and 6 years old at the time had been wanting a dog. What they didn't know was that we had been saving newspaper (for housebreaking) for about a month. One Saturday we took them over to Grandma and Grandpa's and told them we were going to garage sales. We lied. We went to the Humane Society and picked out Sandy. When we went to pick up the kids, Mom stayed in the car with Sandy, who was all of 7 weeks old. What a great surprise for the kids when they came out to the car. Then we went home and the fun began.

Sandy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Aug. 2o, 1998. She had been sick a month earlier (we almost lost her then) and never fully recovered. The last few days she didn't eat much, but on the last day of her life she managed to coax a potato chip out of Dad, it's a memory we'll always have. We miss her a lot and think of her often.

I never had a problem with thunder but I hated sirens. I mean, I HATED sirens. The first Monday of every month the sirens would go off and I would howl for as long as they were on. Mom and Dad thought it was funny and would laugh at me. (Not nice, Mom and Dad.) One time, Mom video taped me howling. Then they played it on the TV. I howled at that, too, so what did my sweet mother do? She video taped me howling at the TV! Not nice, Mom. They thought that was funny, too.

One day the community parade went down our street. Mom was at work and Dad thought that we would get a front row seat in front of our house at the curb. Off in the distance was the sound of the fire engine's sirens as they came down our street. They were part of the parade. When they got closer, they saw me howling. When they got right in front of us they blasted every siren, every horn, everything they had that would make noise. Next thing anyone knew Dad was standing there holding my leash and collar and I was standing on our front porch. He ran up to me, let me in the house where I headed for the kitchen. He went back to watching the parade. About 15 minutes later he came back in the house to find me under the kitchen table. I hadn't moved from there since he had let me in earlier. By then the sirens were gone and Dad assured me that everything was all right, so I came out from under the table. Of course, he told Mom about it when she came home from work and they just thought it was hilarious.

One more thing......I've been at the Bridge for 8 years and they're still laughing about it. That's not nice.

I've been tagged!

Ok, I've been tagged by Jennifer (1990-2007) and Coco!
So..... if you've been tagged too, here's what to do!

Here are the rules:

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary!!!

Some things about me:

1) Mom and Dad got me from the Humane Society of Missouri when I was 6 weeks old.
2) I was a surprise for my human brother and sister.
3) My tail curled back on itself, so when I wagged it I dusted my back.
4) I would sing "Gettin' Ready" along with my dad.
5) A squirrel would sit on the telephone lines and laugh at me when I was outside because I couldn't catch him.
6) I hated sirens, when they went off I would go nuts and howl at them.
7) Mom always wore her hair curly, once she dried it straight and I barked at her until she fixed it.
