Favorite Walk: The neighborhood walk--as long as its not too cold or rainy. She loves to bounce in the snow. Best Tricks: All of her toys have a name and she will fetch them individually when you tell her which one to get. Arrival Story: I told my wife as soon as we had a house, I wanted to get a dog--a really big one. I am friends with my local animal control officer and often visit the pound. One day there was this sick tiny little thing with kennel cough that had to be isolated from the other dogs in her friend's rescue organization so she brought it to the pound. She told me the story of how it was rescued from Virginia after it had been put in the gas chamber with a bunch of other dogs and amazingly was the only one who did not die. I agreed to take her home so she wouldn't be alone at the pound. After taking her home a few times, she started to grow on me and the wife. At one point my wife, who wasn't a dog person, said that there was no way we could return her. We adopted her and named her Shadow because we were constantly accidentally stepping on her because she was always by our side. And although not as big as I wanted, she has grown to a healthy, energetic and muscular43 lbs.
